CHRIST HAS ALL POWER ON EARTH

SERIES: THE DEITY OF CHRIST

TEXT: MATTHEW 28:18

Jesus Christ our Lord is very powerful. He has been given all power on earth and in heaven. He rules, He is a king, His word is law. It’s a great privilege to be a friend of the king who sits on the throne. All authority on earth and in heaven is in His hands. Nothing can happen on earth or in heaven without His perfect or permissive will, He controls the universe.

Instead of striving to please man who has very little power in the universe and in heaven, why not to consolidate our energies to please Him who sits on the throne? -2^nd Cor. 5:9.

Pleasing the king brings all benefits of this life and the life to come. More about the deity of Christ.

CHRIST SITS ON THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER-Matt. 26:64

The high priest of Jesus’ own people demanded that he declares himself under oath “I adjure you by the living God, tell us if you are Christ the son of God”-Matt. 26:63. In other words, “are you the Messiah, the promised one, the very son of God?” And Jesus responded “you have said so, in other words, “it is as you have said.” Jesus replied “you will see the son of man seated at the right hand of power.” Jesus Christ is now seated at the right hand of God, the position of power.

CHRIST IS THE ONE WITH KEYS OF HELL AND OF DEATH-Rev. 1:18.

Jesus Christ is the one who determines who goes to hell and any whom death can take away.
This is through His perfect will or His permissive will that the enemy uses.

When you are in Christ Jesus death can only come as a decision by the Lord to take you home. His protection for your life is strong.

At the cross it is Christ who gave up His spirit on His own accord-John 10:18.

CHRIST IS THE ONE WHO GIVES LIGHT IN HEAVEN-Rev. 21:23-25

There is no sun in heaven, moon, nor stars. Where does light come from in heaven?
The lamb our LORD JESUS is the light in the city of heaven.
In the Old Testament the Shekinah glory of God shone at various times as God revealed His glory.

CHRIST IS WORSHIPPED IN HEAVEN-Rev. 5:8-9.

In Apostle John’s vision no one being was found in heaven worthy to take the scroll from the father and read it, only Jesus Christ. The angels in heave fell down and worshipped Him.

WITH ALL POWER CHRIST IS THE EPITOME OF HUMILITY-Phil. 2:5-11.

Never in history such a combination of power and humility ever been seen.
Having all power on earth and in heaven, being a creator and yet was the meekest person on earth, washing the feet of his disciples and refusing to be given big titles on the earth.
Our attitude should be the same as that of Christ who being in the very nature God did not count equality with God, something to be grasped but humbled Himself and made Himself nothing.

CHRIST IS OUR HOPE OF GLORY- Colossians 1:27

Hope is a fundamental component of the life of the righteous. Most believers do not live all their life in comfort here on earth, yet there is glory laid ahead in the future for every true believer. Our hope of glory is in Christ Jesus- that through Him a great glory awaits us. Our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us- Rom. 8:18.
