CHRIST IS CREATOR

SERIES: THE DEITY OF JESUS CHRIST

TEXT: JOHN 1:1-3; HEBREWS 1:1-2

Our Lord Jesus Christ was there in the beginning- John 1:1. Jesus Christ existed long before his appearing here on earth. In John 17:5 before He was crucified, Jesus prayed to the Father, “Restore to me back the glory that I had with you before the world was.” Before Adam and Eve were created, before the earth was created, before the planets were created, Jesus Christ existed.

Whereas in some Christian doctrine there is great emphasis to present Him as a small baby that is not just what the real Jesus is. He is described as eternal, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent and immutable. Jesus Christ is equal with God the Father- Philippians 2:5-6.

God the Father calls Jesus God- Heb. 1:8. All cultic groups reject the deity of Christ. This is the litmus test for a cult.

ALL THINGS WERE MADE THROUGH HIM-John 1:3

THE Bible says that there is nothing that exists that was not made through Him.
All things were made by Him- Col. 1:16, 17.
1:2- God made the world through Jesus Christ.
He upholds all things in the universe by the word of His power. The cosmos/universe is all held in motion and equilibrium by His power.

ALL THINGS/ MATTER HOLD TOGETHER BECAUSE OF HIM-Col. 1:17

All mater is made of molecules and atoms.
All molecules are held together to form matter, by intermolecular bonds. This force that holds molecules and atoms together is the force of Jesus Christ.
Without it all matter would disintegrate and vanish to nothing.

HE IS TO BE WORSHIPPED

Every knee must bow to Jesus Christ because He is God- Phil. 2:10-11.
God the Father tells all angels; Michael, Gabriel and all the other billions of angels to worship Jesus- Heb. 1:6.
5:6-9- shows a case in Heaven where Jesus is being worshipped.
John 9:38 – shows a case where Jesus Christ was worshipped and He accepted the worship because He should be worshipped.
