HOW NOT TO BE MOVED BY WHAT YOU SEE

SERIES: YOUR FAITH.

TEXT: 2^nd CORINTHIANS 5:7

Faith is the currency of heaven. Faith is evidence of things not seen. In faith, there is enough light for those who want to believe and enough darkness for those who don’t want to believe. Faith consists of believing when it is beyond the power of reason to believe. Leaning on faith in difficult situations can help us overcome even the most trying and challenging times we will face during our life.

Unbelief starves the soul but faith finds food in famine. Faith produces hope. People who have hope believe that tomorrow will be better than today. Faith and prayer are the vitamins of life. With them your life is healthy. Faith is strength by which a shattered life shall emerge into the light.

True faith rests upon the characteristics of God, for God is faithful to perfect that which concerns you. What you see may have to be overcome to by faith:-

WHEN ISRAEL SAW THE EGYPTIANS COMING- Exodus 14:1-22

What Israel saw- Exo. 14:10. Israel lifted up their eyes and saw the Egyptians coming.
Israel became so afraid.
Israel cried.
Israel said unto Moses, “Is it that there were no graves in Egypt that you take us away to die in the wilderness?” V.11- “It had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.”
Israel saw death coming, they didn’t have faith in God. Fear came unto them.
Moses told them, “Fear ye not, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will not see them again- V.13, 14.
Moses had faith the Israelites didn’t have.

CALEB AND THE SPIES AND WHAT THEY SAW- Numbers 13:1-31

Caleb, Joshua and the other 10 spies saw the same Canaanites in the Promised Land but their reports were different.
Report of the 10 spies: – “We went to the land where you sent us. It is really a land flowing with milk and honey. Here’s some of its fruits. But the people who live there are strong and the cities have walls and are very large. We even saw the descendants of Anak there. We can’t attack those people! They are too strong for us.” The people are very tall, we seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes and we looked the same to them- Numbers 13:33.
Numbers 14:11- All congregation lifted up their voices and cried all night and they said to Moses and Aaron, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt, if only we had died in the wilderness”- Num.14:1-2. “Let us select a leader to take us back to Egypt- V.4.
Caleb and Joshua’s report- Num. 14:8- “If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us.”
The 10 spies and Caleb and Joshua saw the same giants in the land of Canaan. Their reports were different. Caleb and Joshua had faith in God, the other 10 spies didn’t have.

PETER WALKS ON WATER- Matt. 14:22-33.

Jesus our Lord walked on water.
14:28-32, Peter asked the Lord to tell him to come to Him on water- V.28. Jesus answered, “Come.”
Peter walked on water but when he saw the waves, his faith went down and he began to sink.
When they climbed into the boat, the wind stopped- V.32.
