HOW TO MAKE GOD’S PLAN FOR YOU TO SUCCEED.

SERIES: GOD’S PLANS TO BLESS YOU.

TEXT: ISAIAH 1:19.

For your life, God says, “I know the plans I have for you, to bless you, to give you hope and a (good) future”-Jeremiah 9:11. God has always purposed greatness for man. When He created Adam, He did it in a big way and gave him dominion over all the creation He had done-Genesis 1:28. Due to man’s disobedience he never fully achieved the greatness that the creator meant for him.

In Isaiah 1:19, God gives a condition for His blessings, “If you are willing and obedient.”

Man has ever struggled with obedience, because he is not willing to obey, at times.

God’s plan are for man’s enlargement, expansion in well-being. All the time God has told man, “If”, putting a condition and terms.

It’s cheap to think that God will mould our lives to greatness without us participating in some way. Those who pay the price get results. Material increase is not approval for godliness neither is poverty and want.

There are some individuals in the Bible who obeyed God, worked hard and became wealthy, like Jacob who was the wealthiest man in the Middle East in his time. Abraham was also very wealthy in gold, silver and in livestock-Genesis 13:12. Joseph of Arimathea was also a wealthy man-Luke 23:50-56. There are others who God made great in wealth and in status like Joseph (Prime minister), Daniel (prime minister), Mordecai, Esther the wife of King Ahaseurus. There are also others who were born again and lived in poverty, like Lazarus who lived at the gate of the rich man-Luke 16:19-31. Popular success in wealth is not an indicator of salvation or godliness, neither is poverty. However, success glorifies God more than failure and poverty. We cannot glorify God among the earthen, if our day to day needs are not met. The recipe for success:-

OBEDIENCE O GOD.

  • God cannot walk with disobedient people. Sin chases God away from our life. All have sinned and fallen down, meaning going lower-Romans 3:28.
  • God says, “The hand of the Lord is not short to save, nor His ear dull, that it cannot hear, but your sins have separated you from your God, so that He will not hear”Isaiah 59:14.
  • When one is saved one starts the journey as a spiritual baby. Upon feeding through the word of God, one grows to maturity-to walking with God in obedience, submission to God and taking responsibility. But as along as one is still a child, he’s no different from a slave, he never grows to his full potential, what God meant for him is never realized-Galatians 4:1. Spiritual growth means taking responsibility for your life. No one can live your life for you. You are responsible for the way you live; in obedience to God or disobedience.
  • God promised the nation of Israel to make them the greatest nation on earth- 28:13. Today, Israel ought to be the greatest economy on earth, not U.S.A, but it is still a small economy. Why? Because of disobedience. Disobedience to God costs you your destiny. Today there are many believers playing with sin everywhere. The more you play with sin the more you ruin your destiny!!
  • Its sin that pushed Adam and Eve from paradise to the wilderness. Lack of character pulls down your destiny.

LAZINESS-2 Thess. 3:10.

  • There is no place for a lazy christian, in the Bible. Real christians are hardworking people. Laziness ruins your future and the future of your children. No christian believer should be an idler or busy body.
  • Apostle Paul worked hard with his own hands for sustenance even as he preached the gospel-Acts 20:34.
  • Proverbs 6:6-11 says, Go to the ant, you sluggard, consider her ways and be wise. 7 it has no command, no overseer or ruler yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest-Vs. 8. How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? Vs. 10 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of hands to rest, Vs. 11 and poverty will come to you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.

SMALL DREAMS & SMALL VISIONS.

  • Christians are leaders. God wants you to dream big. Many of us settle for mediocrity, we just want to become village champions. There is a lot more that God wants us to achieve. Dream big and have a big vision. Where there is no vision people perish. You cannot reach a destination you did not purpose. Success does not come by chance.
  • Dream big. Present your dream to the Lord. He wants you to prosper, to succeed in whatever field you are.
  • You should have a clearly defined purpose of what you want to achieve. For a person with no purpose and no direction, any direction is a way. They are carried by the opinions of others and they do not live their lives.
  • Patience in labor. Great dreams take time to be achieved, patience is necessary.

LACK OF FAITH IN GOD-Hebrews 11:6.

  • Lack of faith causes fear of exploring new territories. There are giants in your promised land. They have to be conquered through bravery. Since God has promised to be with you, you should not fear to explore new territories if you have consulted God about it.

LACK OF CAPACITY.

  • Every profession requires preparation, however small. It is important to have knowledge and skill.
  • Ignorance is not a virtue. Desire to expand your capacity in the field you are. God is at work. He also builds our capacities in our fields and opens doors for capacity building wherever we are.
  • Have an open mind to learn new things, new skills. A closed mind is a closed destiny.
  • Dream big so that big success does not shock your mind.
  • Sometimes expansion is painful but at the end it rewards.
  • Diligence and excellence; whatever you do, do it as unto the Lord, do it excellently-Proverbs 22:29.

DO SOMETHING FOR GOD.

  • You want to get established by God in your life, work in the vineyard of the Lord. Work for the Lord.

CONCLUSION

  • It is the plan of God to make you great.
