JESUS CHRIST BORN IN THE FULNESS OF TIME

MESSAGE: JESUS CHRIST BORN IN THE FULNESS OF TIME

TEXT: GALATIANS 4:4-7

The birth of Jesus Christ is phenomenal in God’s relation to mankind. Those who lived before the birth of Jesus wished to see the days of Jesus on earth and wished to live in the dispensation of grace that Jesus brought. The law came through Moses, grace came through the Lord Jesus. In the law there was no grace, no mercy-one was to be punished without mercy or forgiveness. What Jesus Christ came to do:-

THE FALL OF MAN

  • The structure of the first chapters of Genesis is of happy story of a perfect creation which received God’s approval as being good.
  • In that age of innocence, Adam and Eve enjoyed great fellowship with God, with one another and with the rest of creation-wild animals. Everything was perfect and in harmony. There was no thirst, no hunger, no disease, no lack and no death. Man and lion lived in peace. Man and bear, tiger, leopard, serpent all lived in peace. A lamb and a lion could stay together in peace.
  • In God’s design of the soul of man, he had been created to live in perfect peace and progress when in fellowship with the creator. God created man in a big way. He did not need to go to school to learn things. He was super-intelligent-he could name all wild animal, birds, fish etc without repeating a name, without going to school.
  • God made man the manager of all His creation-he was in charge. God created gold too for man to use and precious stones for him, bdellium, onyx, stone etc-Genesis 2:11-12.
  • God planted a garden to take care of the food for man to eat. Man’s work was only to maintain the garden.
  • In the garden of Eden, man and God were in perfect fellowship, God visited man and they talked together.
  • Suddenly sin entered into the picture. This was the turning point of humanity. Adam and Eve did what God told them not to do, eating of the fruit. What sin did:-
  • Man died spiritually.
  • Physical death came to mankind, today more than 100 people every minute. Death came through sin, to return dust to dust-Genesis 3:19.
  • Increased pain of child bearing in women.
  • Man deteriorated physically and in intellect-today we have to go to school to learn things Adam would know naturally.
  • Disease came to man.
  • In agriculture, the cursed ground produces very little compared to what it could produce before.
  • Thorns and briers started growing.
  • Man and beasts became enemies.
  • Chaos started in all creation. The lion and the lamb became enemies etc.
  • All of creation was subjected to frustration. Today all creation groans in pain, waiting for redemption-Romans 8:22.

THE SECOND ADAM, JESUS ENTERS-Galatians 4:4.

The sin of Adam and Eve grieved God. God with immeasurable love for man immediately put a plan in place for the salvation of man and restoration.

Genesis 3:15-God put enmity between the seed of the woman and satan. The seed of the woman is the single male individual who would bruise the head of the serpent. This seed of the woman is Jesus Christ who was born of virgin Mary.

JESUS WOULD COME IN THE FULNESS OF TIME-Gal. 4:4

God works His programs in dispensations. God planned the incarnation/birth of Jesus to take place at a particular time. Prophesies of the birth of Jesus:-

  • Abraham saw the time of Jesus on earth and rejoiced-John 8:56.
  • Moses told Israel that God would give them another prophet like him-Jesus-Deut. 18:15.
  • Isaiah prophesied that a young virgin would give birth to the Messiah-Isaiah 7:14.
  • Micah prophesied that Jesus would be born in Bethlehem-Micah 5:2.
  • Hosea prophesied that Jesus would be taken to Egypt for refuge-Hosea 11:1.

JESUS CAME TO SEEL AND SAVE WHAT WAS LOST.

Jesus Christ came to restore all that was lost by Adam and Eve. He came to destroy all the curses and redeem mankind back to God. All that was lost; everlasting life, fellowship/union with God the father, health and all types of curses are broken through the blood of Jesus Christ.

CONCLUSION

The first Adam is of the earth, the second Adam is the Lord Jesus from heaven-1st Cor. 15:47.
