SERIES: THE MAJESTY OF JESUS CHRIST

TEXT: HEBREWS 1:1-8

Our God is not a silent God. He has always revealed Himself to mankind. Hebrews 1:1 tells that in times past God spoke to man through the prophets. He spoke on numerous occasions and in different ways. God’s revelation through the prophets was fragmentary, occasional and progressive. God spoke by dreams and visions, by typical ordinances, by angels, by the law and prophecy.

In these last days however, God has spoken to us by His son Jesus Christ. In Jesus we have the final and complete revelation of God. If you want to know what the eternal and almighty God is like, you must look at the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus is greater than the greatest prophets of the Old Testament. The Lord Jesus:-

Jesus is the heir of all things we see.
Jesus is the creator of all things-John 1:1-3.
Jesus upholds all creation together by his power. Laws of nature like the law of gravity, the biological laws of bio systems and ecology work through His power.
Jesus is the brightest of God’s glory. He is the radiance of God. Moses face shone when he was in God’s presence. In the spiritual world, believers who carry Jesus Christ with them shine with brilliant light.

He is the express in age of God. He said, “He who has seen me has seen the father.”
He is the messenger from God and also the message.

God cannot relate to any human being without a priest. Jesus Christ is our great high priest with God. As our enemy satan accuses us before God, Jesus defends us before the father. More about Jesus Christ:-

HE IS THE LIGHT OF HEAVEN-Revelation 21:23-26.

Heaven, our eternal dwelling does not have sun or moon.
Jesus is the sun in heaven.
His brilliance illuminates the city of heaven. The glory of God who is Jesus gives light to the city.
The saints who dwell in heaven and all the angels are able to see because of radiance of the glory of Jesus.

JESUS CHRIST WILL JUDGE ALL CREATION.

From Adam the first man to the last all will go through the judgement of Jesus Christ as He sits on his great white throne-Rev. 20:11-15.
All believers will be judges about their faith and what they did at the judgement seat of Christ-2nd Cor. 5:9-11.

JESUS HUMILIATED SATAN AND DEMONS-COL. 2:15.

Having disarmed the powers and authorities (that humans fear), he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
Satan, the tormentor of mankind was stripped of all his powers by the Lord and was humiliated publicly.
The Lord gave us all power over satan and today even the weakest believer is stronger than satan. The Lord said, “I saw satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy (satan), nothing will harm you.
If it were not for Jesus our Lord no human can have power over the enemy.
Demons came crying to Jesus pleading for mercy, asking “have you come to torment us before the appointed time?”-Matt. 8:29.

CONCLUSION

Jesus Christ is our champion. Apostle Paul said, “for me to live is Christ.” Can things be said about your life? The Lord knows whether He is the center of your life or other things.
Make Him the center of your life from today.
