THE LORD WILL SETTLE IT

SERIES: DIVINE INTERVENTIONS

TEXT: 1 PETER 5:10, ISAIAH 54:14

 

The phrase “And the Lord settled it” shows the assurance we have that God is capable of bringing peace, resolution and finality to our situations. In a world filled with chaos and uncertainty, God’s promise is that He will settle our affairs, bringing clarity and divine order.

Today we will see how God settles matters, the importance of trusting Him, and the peace that comes from His intervention. Let us learn:-

GOD’S PROMISE OF SETTLEMENT.

  1. God’s faithfulness in settling our issues.
  • God’s word assures us that He is a God of resolution and peace-(1 Peter 5:10)
  1. God’s word is established forever.
  • We can trust that what God has declared in His word will come to pass-(Psalm 119:89)
  1. God’s process of settlement.
  • Trusting in God is essential for experiencing His settlement in our lives-(Hebrews 11:1).
  • Job was restored, settled by God after his trials. God settled Job’s situation with blessings beyond what he had lost-(Job 40:10-17)

GOD’S INTERVENTION IN OUR CHAOS.

  1. Peace in the midst of Turmoil.
  • God has the ability to bring peace in our storms even when the world is chaotic-(Philippians 4:6-7)
  1. Rescue from difficult circumstances.
  • God intervenes in our struggles, providing solutions we cannot find on our own-(Psalm 34: 17-19)
  1. Testimonies of divine settlements.
  • Countless testimonies show how God has settled disputes and difficulties for His people-(Revelation 12:11)
  1. The role of prayer in settlement.
  • Prayer invites God’s intervention and is a key component in finding resolution-(James 5:16).
  • The Israelites at the Red Sea – God settled their fear by parting the waters of the sea, allowing them to escape-(Exodus 14:13-16).

RECEIVING GOD’S SETTLEMENT.

  1. Be still and know that God is God.
  • We must learn to be still, allowing God to work on our behalf-(Psalm 46:10).
  1. Trust God’s timing.
  • God’s timing may differ from ours but He is never late in settling our matters-(Ecclesiastes 3:1).
  1. Expect good outcome from God.
  • We are encouraged to expect good results from our trust in God’s ability to settle our situations-(Jeremiah 29:11).
  • Remember God is a rewarder of those that delinquently seek Him-(Heb. 11:6)
  1. Celebrating God’s faithfulness.
  • Acknowledge and celebrate God’s past settlement. This build our faith for the future-(Psalm 126:3).
  • God settled Hannah after long term barrenness by granting her a son after her heartfelt prayer-(1st Samuel 1:19-20)

WALKING IN THE PEACE OF GOD’S SETTLEMENT

  1. Live a life without or free from worry.
  • Once God has settled our issues we are called to live without anxiety-(Matthew 6:25-34).
  1. Trust God with your future.
  • When God settles our past, we can confidently walk into our future-(Proverbs 3:5-6)
  1. Focusing on God’s promises
  • Keeping our eyes on God’s promises helps us maintain peace.(2 peter 1:4)
  1. Encourage others in their settlements.
  • Sharing our experiences can encourage others to trust God for their own settlement-(2nd Corinthians 1:4)
  • David’s victory over Goliath after God settled the battle. David became a champion in Israel-(1st Samuel 17:50)

DECLARE GOD’S SETTLEMENT OVER OUR LIVES.

  1. Speak God’s word.
  • Proclaiming God’s promises over our circumstances reinforces our faith-(Proverbs 18:21).
  1. Pray with authority.
  • We can approach God with boldness, declaring His settlements in our lives-(1st John 5:14-15).
  1. Live in expectation of His settlements.
  • An expectant heart prepares the way for God to move-(Hebrew 11:6).
  1. Become a witness of His settlements.
  • Our testimonies can be powerful witness of God’s faithfulness-(Mark 5:19).
  • The prodigal son -when he returned home his father settled his shame and restored him-(Luke 15:20-24).

CONCLUSION

PRAYER:

  • Lord, I trust you to settle away issues in my life-In Jesus Name.
  • I declare peace in the midst of my chaos-In Jesus Name.
  • My father help me to be still and recognize your power at work-In Jesus Name.
  • I pray for the patience to wait for your perfect timing in my life.
  • Lord, help me to encourage others in their journey of Faith.
  • Lord, I thank you for the settlements you are bringing into my life.
