WALKING WITH GOD REQUIRES HOLINESS

SERIES: HOLINESS- GOD’S WAY TO GREATNESS.

TEXT: PSALM 24:3-6.

Two cannot walk together except that they agree-Amos 3:3. Salvation is starting a journey with God and walking with God requires holiness as God Himself is holy-1^st John 1:6.

It is the presence of God in our lives that causes us to prosper, it is the presence of God in our lives that causes our enemies to flee, it is the presence of God in our lives that causes us to glitter and be envied.

Israel moved from Egypt and occupied Canaan because the presence of God was with them. Moses prayed to God, “If your presence does not go with us, do not send us from here”-Exodus 33:15. What guaranteed victory in the journey was the presence of God? It is the presence of God that parted the Red Sea, it was the presence of God that brought manna, it was the presence of God that brought down the walls of Jericho and enabled Israel to conquer the Canaanites and occupy the land.

It is the presence of God that brought down the giant Goliath down-not the small stone from David.

IN GOD’S PRESENCE THERE IS PEACE OF MIND.

Fullness of joy; in God’s presence there is fullness of joy-Psalm 16:11.
Happiness/gladness in the presence of God-Hebrews 1:9
Peace: “you keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”
We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ-Romans 5:1.
There is no peace for the sinner, Isaiah 48:22.

THE PRESENCE OF GOD IS YOUR PROTECTION.

When sin enters and the presence of God leaves you are not safe, you open a door for the enemy to destroy you.
When Israel sinned through Achan, they proceeded to the battle and they were defeated at AI-Joshua 7:11, 12.
It was when Israel got into sin that enemies came from time to time and fought them and defeated them-Babylonians, Assyrians, Philistines etc.
Satan, the enemy knows that when the presence of God leaves he can attack you and be successful, so the most effective way for him to succeed is first, to get you to sin then attack.
Holiness is your guard.
Curses work in the medium of sin. When you live in holiness curses home no power-1^st Peter 3:13.

THE PRESENCE OF GOD GUARANTEES ANSWER TO PRAYER.

God does not hear the prayer of a sinner (except that of repentance)-John 9:31.
Miracles happen when the presence of God is with a person-John 3:2; John 9:16.
The presence of God qualifies you to serve God.
God does not choose who to save but He chooses whom to use-2^nd Timothy 2:20-21,
