THROUGH DREAMS- HOW THE HOLY SPIRIT SPEAKS TO US.

The Holy Spirit is our helper, our teacher, our comforter. He is God. He helps, teaches and comforts by communicating to us. 

One of the major ways the Holy Spirit speaks to us is through dreams. Each one of us dreams from time to time. There are three types of dreams.

Dreams from your own mind.

• What goes through your thoughts and is processed can reappear in dream-a reflection of the state of your mind. 
• What preoccupies your mind later appears in your dream. An example is a mind that processes thoughts of lust-immoral dreams will appear. Likewise a mind preoccupied with anxiety will produce night mares-dream so fear. 
• Your dreams can tell you what your mind is preoccupied with. That is why the Bible tells us what kind of thoughts we should allow:-things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report.

Dreams from satan.

• The devil oppresses through dreams for grown-ups and even children. He can influence lives through dreams even plant attitudes through dreams. 
• Satanic dreams should be pre emptied through prayer. 

Dreams from the Holy Spirit.

• God can speak to your life through dreams.
• There may be dreams to ignore but if a dream is repeated over and over, it is important to seek God for its interpretation.
• Some people to whom the Holy Spirit spoke through dreams

JACOB-Gen. 28:12.

• Jacob left Beersheba for Paddan-Aram. In the wilderness night came and he slept there. At night he had a dream, he saw a stare way resting on the earth with its top reaching to heaven and angels were ascending and descending on it. Later on, this became a place of worship Bethel today called Bet-el.

JOSEPH SON OF JACOB-Gen. 37:6-10.

• Joseph had a dream. The spirit of God revealed to him about his future, the same dream in 2 different versions. 

NEBUCHADNEZZAR-Daniel 2:1-12.

• The spirit of God gave Nebuchadnezzar several dreams. These dreams were to show him about the future of his kingdom and create a way for Daniel to become the prime minister of the Persian empire.

THE DREAM OF PHARAOH-Gen. 41:1-32

• The spirit of God showed 2 dreams to Pharaoh.
• These are the dreams that created way for Joseph to become the prime minister of Egypt.

THE DREAM OF THE BATTLER AND THE BAKER-Gen. 40:1-23

• God gave the battler and the baker each a dream. The dreams came to pass.

THE DREAMS OF JOSEPH

1. Matthew 1:20-22-Joseph was betrothed to Mary. He realized she was pregnant with a child, secretly he planned to leave her. God spoke to Joseph through a dream. He obeyed and he did not leave Mary. 
2. Matthew 2:20-Herod planned to kill baby Jesus. God spoke to Joseph in a dream to flee to Egypt with Mary and the child. He obeyed.
3. Matthew 2:19-21-After Herod died in a dream, Joseph was told to go back to Israel. He obeyed.

APOSTLE PETER-Acts 10:9-17.

• God made Apostle Peter feel sleepy. He went and lay on bed.
• A dream was brought to him 2 times. God was speaking to him to accept a gentile into God’s family.

APOSTLE PAUL.

Acts 16:9-The Macedonian call.

• In a dream, Paul saw a man from Macedonia begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” He obeyed and left Asia Minor to Macedonia to preach the word of God.

Acts 27:21-25.

• In a dream Paul was showed what their journey in the sea would look like.

CONCLUSION

• The Holy Spirit can speak to us through dreams.
