THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST

TEXT: REVELATION 5:9-12

 

In the Bible we have the New Testament. The New Testament/covenant is what was produced by the blood of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Jesus Christ took the cup and said, “This cup is the New Testament/covenant in my blood-1^st Corinthians 11:25.

Blood is so important to God that it is mentioned about 700 times in the Bible. Apostle Peter spoke of the “precious” blood, John spoke of the overcoming power of the blood.

Your natural blood supplies life-giving oxygen and nutrients to every cell in your body. Spiritually speaking, any part of your life that is cut off from the blood of Jesus is dead or dying. When we apply anointing oil, it is a representation of the blood of Jesus Christ.

Your blood also carries away wastes and toxins from your cells. Spiritually speaking, without the blood of Jesus Christ your life is filled with filth. Thank God for the blood of Jesus that purifies us from sin from day to day.

SEVEN PLACES JESUS SHED HIS BLOOD.

1. In the garden of Gethsemane: as He prayed drops of blood fell from His face to the ground-Luke 22:40-44.
2. His back: when He was beaten with lashes-John 19:1.
3. Crown of thorns: thorns pierced His head and blood flowed.
4. His hands: His hands were pierced with huge nails and blood flowed out.
5. His legs: His legs were pierced and blood oozed out.
6. Internal bleeding: He bled internally.
7. His chest: the soldier pierced His side with a spear. Blood and water flowed out.

WHAT THE BLOOD OF JESUS DOES.

1. Forgiveness of sins. Almost all things by law, are cleansed with blood and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins-Heb. 9:22.
2. The blood of Jesus gives us life-John 6:53.
3. The blood of Jesus brings us close to the father-Eph. 2:13.
4. The blood of Jesus cleanses our conscience from guilt-Heb. 9:14.
5. The blood gives us boldness to approach God-Heb. 10:19.
6. The blood of Jesus sanctifies/cleanses us-Heb. 13:12.
7. The blood heals us-1^st Peter 2:24.
8. The blood of Jesus gives us victory as we fight the devil-Rev. 12:11.

THE BLOOD OF JESUS-OUR SECURITY/PROTECTION.

• Blood speaks. The blood of Abel spoke from the ground it was shed.
• The blood of Jesus speaks too.
• When Israelites applied blood on their doors in Egypt, the destroyer could not enter their homes because of the blood applied.
• In any house where blood was not applied the destroyer entered and killed.
• How much more the blood of Jesus Christ who is God, speaks for your protection! The blood secured us from:-

1. No curse can work where the blood of Jesus is applied. Generational curses pursuing you are rendered ineffective by the blood of Jesus.
2. Misfortunes and bad omen. Cannot work where the blood of Jesus is applied. Demonic accidents, evil spells, demonic oppression are destroyed by the power of the blood.
3. Cannot work in your life as the blood of Jesus speaks for you.

CONCLUSION.

• The blood of Jesus speaks for us, better things than the blood of Abel-Heb. 12:24.
• The blood of Jesus will speak for you in your life!
• Appropriate the blood of Jesus wherever you go.
