BAPTISM OF FAVOR

SERIES: MY GOD IS MY DELIVERER

TEXT: I SAMUEL 16:14-10

Divine favor is a special preference

• An act of Grace flowing from the throne of God.
• Favor is not related to your age, sex, position in society, tithe in the church, physical appearance or educational background.
• In I Samuel 16:4-10, the man highly favored was not around, he was far in the bush.
• They had to search for him (V.11-12)

I.  WHAT QUALITIES, YOU FOR FAVOR

1. A strong decision for the Lord no matter what others are saying about you.

• The Levites were chosen as God’s prophets instead of first borns (Exodus 32:25-26)
• Levi and Simeon were brothers, they were violent people
• Jacob their father said “my soul stay away from them”
• “May I never be a party to their wicked plans”
• “In their anger they killed people”
• “The curse of scattering was upon them”
• “They were very violent and unkind to animals, crippling the oxen”
• But in Exodus 32:25-26, Moses called “WHO IS ON THE LORD’S SIDE?” and all Levites came – this was favor.
• Rahab – she had a strong decision for the Lord.
• Rahab a harlot entering into the family of Jesus Christ
• Ruth had a strong decision “your people will be my people, your God will be my God”
• Ruth was a Moabite, a cursed people, but Ruth found favor.

2. Tireless service (Malachi 3:16-18) they feared God – “a book of remembrance was opened for them”
3. Constant fellowship with the father (Gen. 39:21)

• Joseph had constant fellowship with Jacob
• Joseph stayed very close to God
• Joseph got the coat of many colors.

4. Divine election (Rom. 9:16)

• Judah was chosen despite, evil marriage to his son’s wife.
• Judah is the tribe of favor.

II.  RESULTS FAVOR (GEN 49:8-12)

• Victory always – David lost no battle
• Superiority always – Joseph brother bowed to him
• Authority always – Joseph and Daniel became prime minister even in foreign lands.
• Enjoy Holy Ghost power and presence
• Comfortable living
• You conceive miracles and give birth to wonders (Luke 1:28-31-Mary)

III.  GIVE YOUR LIFE TO CHRIST

• Dwell permanently IN SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH God (Psalm 91:1)
• Make a quality decision to live under the shadow of the Almighty, ask God for favor.
