DIVINE INTERVENTION IN DESTROYING THE YOKE OF DELAY.

SERIES: DIVINE INTERVENTIONS

TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 2:1-3; MATT. 25:1-12

Today we want to analyze the causes of delay in destiny and how to attract divine intervention to destroy the yokes of delay.

Destiny is always a function of time. Delays happen in the platforms of time and history. The devil’s target is to destroy your destiny. Destiny is the very purpose why God allowed you to come into this world, to fulfill. Destiny is what is written for your life in the book of life. Satan does not attack because of your past, he troubles you because of your future. The future is the primary target of satan.

When satan sees and knows that he cannot derail you in destiny, he will delay you; for when you are delayed long enough, you are destroyed. Let us learn:-

THE FIVE FOOLISH VIRGINS:

• The five foolish virgins delayed the purchase of their oil.
• They bought what they should bought but at the wrong time. They delayed and the door was shut.
• The door into destiny is close-able, never to open again.
• These five women were virgins, they had waited patiently for the bridegroom.
• They had the cash to buy their oil, knew exactly where the shops were, but suffered destruction. Their regrets could not save them.
• Delay is destruction, therefore be warned.
• God knew this and when the strange forces of delay took hold of Lot, He sent down his angels to hasten him-Gen. 19:15-16.
• The angelic forces of God are here today to set you free!! No delay will hold you captive any longer.
• “Progress” is the plan of God. “Delay” is the strategy of the devil-Deut. 2:1-3.
• Look at your life, you have wandered too long, you have waited enough.
• Turn, Turn, Turn!! It is time for movement.
• Time comes when you stop talking, to start moving, stop sitting, to start running.
• Stop chasing the shadow, begin to pursue the real thing.
• Start that business now! Start that schooling now! Start learning that thing now!!
• The word of God says “Turn.” Until you turn, your situation can’t turn-Life is not a joke, begin to move.
• “Today is the day of salvation.” Now is the acceptable time for your progress.

CAUSES OF DELAY.

• Until we recognize the immediate cause of delay, we can’t proffer genuine solution.
• Following are some of the main causes of delay:-

1. Indecision: (Song of Solomon 5:2-6).

• He did not make up his mind on time, he delayed and missed his lover. You will not miss your joy.
• Don’t be double minded. Don’t doubt. Don’t harbor unbelief.
• The children of Israel did not enter their rest because of unbelief which gave birth to indecision.

1. Wrong use of the tongue-Numbers 14:27-33.

• The children of Israel murmured and God caught them. He thereafter allowed delay to the whole nation for 40 years.
• What is it you are saying with your mouth?

“Don’t say I can’t, it is not possible, it will never happen, I will belief when I see.”

• Instead, start singing songs of praise, make mention of his great works and see him make a way for you!!
• Miriam spoke against Moses and the whole nation stood still until she was restored and healed.

1. Closed gate-Joshua 6:1-2.

• God gave them the land, but the enemies locked the gate.
• Delay sometimes may be the work of the enemies.
• But God is the gate opener, gates of bronze and of iron, God opens effortlessly.

1. Curses.

• When someone is operating under a curse, he will ever remain a struggler until he is set free-Gen. 4:10-15.
• Setting you free is not the big thing, but the ability to retain the freedom.
• If a man who is not paying the Lord’s tithes is prayed for and gets freed from the curse of closed heavens, he will gain a temporary freedom, but to remain free he must begin to pay tithe, and be faithful to God in this area.
• If a man is under the curse of failure and backwardness imposed by wicked men is prayed for, he will free temporarily.
• But to be permanently free and remain free he or she must not play with sin!!

1. Fear of failure-Numbers 14.

• God wanted them to go but they feared the opposition and God said they will wander in the wilderness.
• Failure is not new, failure is as old as man. It is necessary to step forward toward success.
• If we don’t take the risk of failing, we will not get the chance to succeed.
• If you are fearing failure, you are dodging progress.

HOW TO ESCAPE DELAY.

1. Divine intervention.

• Pharaoh delayed Israel, until God said enough is enough. This will not continue any longer and with his hand He brought them out and took them into destiny.
• In Exodus 4, God told pharaoh, “Let my people go” but pharaoh refused.
• Pharaoh delayed the children of Israel until chapter 12, when the yoke of delay was totally broken and they were free forever.
• Today is the chapter 12 of your life, every spirit of pharaoh must give up.

1. Righteousness.

• Joshua led the children of Israel to conquer Jericho. They were to move forward and take AI but Achan stole an accursed thing, and the whole of Israel was defeated.
• Sin causes delay, righteousness delivers you.
• Delay will not just come from household enemies or witches in your village, but the sin you are hiding.
• It could be that hidden sin that is hiding your success, but you can lose yourself and come out of your sin.
• Although delay is not denial, but persistent delay can become a stronghold if not addressed spiritually.
• Some delays are caused by satanic interference while other delays come because of personal disobedience, ignorance or divine timing.
• God never intends for His children to be stagnated or frustrated by prolonged delays.
• Many of God’s children find themselves bound by unseen forces delaying their breakthroughs.

WALKING IN DIVINE SPEED AND ACCELERATION.

• Once the yoke of delay is broken, believers must learn how to walk in divine acceleration.
• We must stay in alignment with God’s will-Psalm 37:23.
• When we walk according to God’s plan, we move at His divine speed.
• We must be sensitive to divine opportunities-Ecclesiastes 9:11.
• Time and chance happen to everyone, but only those who are spiritually alert can seize them.
• We must engage the ministry of angels-Hebrews 1:14. Angels are assigned to help believers move forward quickly in their assignments.
• Live a life of obedience and holiness-Isaiah 1:19.
• When we obey God, He removes barriers and speeds up our progress.
• After breaking free from delay, it is important to sustain your victory through spiritual principles of vigilance, keeping right company of friends.
• Keep a lifestyle of thanksgiving and praise-Psalm 34:1.
• Gratitude keeps the heavens open and accelerates divine manifestations.

CONCLUSION

• Delay is not part of God’s plan for His children.
• The enemy may attempt to hinder progress, but through prayer, faith, obedience and prophetic declarations, every yoke of delay can be crushed.
• God is the author of divine acceleration and He can restore wasted years and bring long a waited promises to fulfilment in record time.

PRAYER

• Father, I command every yoke of delay in my life to be broken by fire, in Jesus name.

• Lord, release the anointing for divine acceleration upon my life-in Jesus name.

• Every demonic stronghold hindering my progress, be destroyed now-in Jesus name.

• I cancel every satanic resistance against my breakthrough- in Jesus name.

• O Lord, arise and settle me speedily in every area of my life-in Jesus name.
