FAITH COMES BY HEARING

SERIES: YOUR FAITH.

TEXT: ROMANS 10:17

Having faith glorifies GOD. Faith is believing before what will only make sense after because God has said it. Faith is unseen but felt, faith is strengthened when we feel we have none, faith is hope when all seems lost. The simplicity of faith is taking God’s word for it. The Christian way is designed in such a way that you cannot walk it to the end comfortably, without faith.

Faith is stepping into the darkness because God has said that you do, taking God at His word. In ordinary life children have perfect faith, they don’t doubt what their parents tell them. A child threw himself from a tower where fire was burning because his father told him he would catch him safe. In Matthew 18:2-4, Jesus tells us to have faith like of a child.

THE EYES OF FAITH-Ephesians 1:18.

Paul prays for the church in Ephesus that their inner eyes maybe opened. These are not the physical eyes, their physical were already open. He mentioned other eyes not seen, which are closed, he is praying for these eyes to be open.
You cannot see something and still doubt it. Once you see it you automatically believe.
A person whose inner eyes are open sees things that others cannot see.
Some of the Old Testament giants of faith believed in God in what seemed physically impossible, they hadn’t heard of it happen before, they didn’t have the Bible or precedence. The Bible says because of their great faith they ‘Saw’ their promises and waved at them before they died and God is not ashamed to be their God-Heb. 11:13-16.

TRUE FAITH ONLY COMES FROM THE WORD OF GOD-Romans 10:17.

When GOD speaks everything obeys-living and non-living things.
Faith can walk. It comes-by hearing the word of God. Those who spend time with the word of GOD operate in great faith, that’s why it is important to always read the Bible.
Your word is a lamp to my feet-Psalm 119:105.
Your word is truth-John 17:17.
Jeremiah 23:29, “Is not my word like fire? Declares the Lord and like a hammer which shatters the rock?” fire consumes chaff, the dirt in your life. Like a hammer the word of God breaks what seems impossible.
The word of God is living and active-Heb. 4:12.
The word of God is sharper than a two-edged sword, it is a weapon-Heb. 4:12, you can fight by using the word.

FAITH COMES TO ENABLE US FIGHT-Ephesians 10:16.

The journey of faith is battle against the forces of Satan; principalities, powers, rulers of this present darkness and spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Truth, the gospel and righteousness are offensive weapons. Faith is above all the three. With faith all arrows of Satan are rendered useless, none of them can pass through this shield.
