FOR THE BELIEVER PROMOTION COMES FROM GOD

SERIES: HOLINESS- GOD’S WAY TO GREATNESS.

TEXT: ISAIAH 54:14; PSALM 75:6-7.

God is at work in your faith-Phil. 2:13 both to will and to work for His good pleasure. He is the author and perfecter of your faith-Hebrews 12:2. Once you give your life to Jesus, He takes it and from that time on, you no longer belong to yourself but belongs to another.

God is set to build you into a spiritual house but is keen to see that the house is well structured, not to have cracks and weaknesses. The foundation of that building of faith is HOLINESS. God’s foundations takes time to excavate, reinforce and to cast-2nd Timothy 2:19. If the foundation of a building is faulty, however the number of floors you keep on building upwards, it will not stand but will stress the foundation and crack. A crack starting from the foundation upwards into the storeyed building cannot be repaired, if it has started from a faulty foundation! That is why God is keen to build a strong foundation for one’s faith if the building will go to a big tower. An example is given by the Lord, of two builders; one took time to dig deep into the earth and spent much time and resources into the foundation before starting the tower. The other builder did not spend much on the foundation and moved fast to set up towers upwards. When the floods came, the building that was set on a strong foundation stood but the one that went up fast without a strong base tumbles down with a thunder-Matt. 7:24-25. How God promotes a believer:-

FOUNDATION OF HOLINESS GIVES THE BELIEVER REVELATION.

  • God created man in such a way that man should be guided by God’s revelation from time to time, in the journey of life and progress.
  • Revelation knowledge from God comes when one is in perfect fellowship with God-Psalm 25:14-15; Luke 8:10.
  • Every human being wants to be successful in life. God knows where you are in life and where you want to go.
  • God’s divine guidance/inspiration is the one that navigates you in the journey of victory/success from where you are to where you want to go, and there are many details of the journey that you don’t know.

SIN CUTS OFF DIVINE GUIDANCE/INSPIRATION OF GOD.

  • Once sin gets into your spirit, you can no longer sense God’s divine secrets to progress. God created gold for Adam and Eve-Gen. 2:12-14. This gold and precious jewels had been created by God for Adam, Eve and their descendants to use.
  • They were to be led by divine guidance of God to know where the gold and jewels were.
  • However, when sin got into Adam and Eve, divine guidance ceased and they never accessed the wealth God had created for them.
  • Sin cuts off the insight from God (network) so that one cannot access destiny that God had purposed for one to enjoy, in this life.
  • Time and chance happen to all in life-Eccl. 9:11, but when that turning point of life comes, it is God’s divine guidance/inspiration that will illuminate your path to show what choice to make to access your destiny in this life-Isaiah 30:21.
  • Once at that golden moment you make the right choice, your entire life changes for success and greatness. This is the time of your visitation.

WHEN THE FOUNDATION IS FAULTY, THE BUILDING FALLS DOWN.

  • The foundation is the load-bearing part of the whole building. If it was not done keenly, the superstructure will stress it, crack it and the whole building comes down!
  • There are numerous people in the Bible who started well and as life of progress and success came in, their whole FAITH tumbles down and ended up leaving God and serving satan. Examples:-
  1. King Solomon-He started well, God made him the wisest man who has ever lived (except Jesus Christ). With time, sin crept into his life and he ended up leaving God and worshiping idols-1st Kings 11:6.
  2. Demas-he started well, serving God diligently in mission work-2nd Timothy 4:10. With time he lost appetite for the Gospel of Jesus and deserted Paul to Thessalonica.
  3. King Saul-started well, anointed of God but sin crept into his life and his faith tumbled until God rejected him.
  4. Judas the disciple-started well, he cast out demons with other disciples, but sin of theft and love of money crept into him and he left the Lord to serve satan.
  5. Kind David-a man living in fear of the Lord was promoted by God to greatness. Later sin of adultery came into his life and the once God fearing man brought disgrace to the faith.
  6. Here in our country, the list of fallen giants of faith is endless.

CONCLUSION.

  • For the child of God, sin shortens destiny, righteousness exalts (brings success and progress)-Prov. 14:34.
  • Sin drove Adam and Eve from paradise, the garden of plenty to the wilderness and sin is ruining the destinies of the born-again children of God even today.
  • Do you want to be established by God? Have a strong plan in life to keep yourself far from sin.
