FRESH ANOINTING

SERIES: THE ANOINTING

TEXT: ISAIAH 43:18-19

God has great things in store if we would only  believe and open our eyes and hearts to receive them from him.

In the midst of the coronavirus (Covid-19)  pandemic. God says “forget the former things? Do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:18-19).

Brethren, these are the last days, our anointing is an end-time anointing. In the last days, God is   going to raise up people of power who will operate in the supernatural power of God’s spirit. These people are going to be different to anyone who has ever lived before.

For every season and for every time, God has something for the particular generation that lives in that season of time. This last generation is the greatest generation, that has ever lived. We who are alive today are different to the saints of God that have passed on. Paul spoke of two different kings of people when Jesus returns. He tells us of those who died before he returns and those who are alive when he returns. (I Thessalonians 4:16-17). We are told to encourage one another with these words.

As you can see dear friends and fellow pilgrims already the world is becoming a dangerous and uncertain place to live in.

The Bible warns that many will die prematurely because they will be overcome by fear when they see what is happening.

Today, these things are happening before our eyes, because of coronavirus nations are going bankrupt, wars and uprisings breaking out everywhere like the Arab spring, famine is going to be the next thing, earthquakes and tsunamis and much more.

But God says in the midst of all these things. He is doing a new thing, a new world order is in the making. But God wants his anoints men and women to receive a fresh anointing of a spirit of faith and power.

I for one, had never imagined that the Church can be locked down by a gazetti notice of the Kenya government. I had never thought that a day would come when we could not congregate as a church or preach in our usual open-air street meeting now it is here. In desperation I have asked God, why the church is so powerless and it has been closed down with no dialogue with the government. The answer has been (Isaiah 43:18-19) God is doing a new thing.

I will never again take preaching for granted. The Lord says, the anointing that is coming up the church in the last days is different to the anointing that has been on any other generation before. In (Ecclesiastes 3:1) “to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”

For every season and for every time there is an anointing commensurate with that season and for every season God has a plan for those people that are alive at that time. Out generation could be the last generation before we see Jesus return. It you are a child of God, this is the most exciting time to be alive. (Luke 21:32)

True believers must make wise choices today, foolish believers will not prepare themselves and will not place a demand on God for a fresh anointing upon their lives so that they can prepare themselves for the things that are about to manifest on the earth.

A wise choice under coronavirus lockdown, is to seek for a fresh outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit upon our lives.

Foolish Christians do not become more holy and more like Jesus Christ – they backslide for lack of accountability.

Wise Christians are those that place a demand on the spirit of God so that they can be anointed for God’s end-time plans and purposes. God’s people are battle ready all the time.

Brethren, around the world, nothing catches God by surprise. Satan did not know coronavirus was coming, but God knew. Everything is in Gods master plan and he has already set things in order. God told his prophets thousands of years ago what is going to happen in these end times.

Let us make wise choices by aligning and positioning ourselves with the purposes of God. In these days be encourage to know that your redeemer lives (Job 19:25)

Let us look at the text again (Isaiah 43:18-19)

  • We are in a time where God is setting the Church up for the unveiling of his plan.
  • God is wanting to line the church up for the move of his spirit in our day.
  • We have a part to play in that. Let us learn:-

I.  LET GO OF THE PAST

  • You will never be able to enter your tomorrow as long as you are standing in your yesterday.
  • The Apostle Paul refused to allow the past and the things that had happened to him to keep him from pursuing God’s now and God’s future – he asked for a fresh anointing.
  • In (Philippians 3:12-14) Paul stresses that he is not already perfect. He still struggles with sin, Jesus return and the end of sin remains in the future.
  • Paul says that God’s blessing are before us not behind us.
  • The prize for Christians is the blessings and rewards in the age to come – Paul pressed on to the fresh anointing.
  • What has happened to us in the past can either serve as a springboard or an anchor.

II.  GOD HAS A NEW THING IN MIND FOR YOU.

  • The things that you thought would never happen are about to be.
  • The things you thought would always be are about to cease.
  • The way things have been are not the way things will always be.
  • Change is coming, its not a politically promised change it is a God promised change and He is not a man that he should lie.
  • In Romans 4:17
  • If God created the world out of nothing, He could certainly give a child. The God who creates out of nothing will create for you a blessed future.

III. OPEN YOUR EYES TO SEE.

  • God has not forgotten the vision that he gave to us. His plans is still to bring the fulfilment of that vision.
  • In (Habakkuk 2:2-4) everything is for an appointed time.
  • This is the appointed time when God will give the flesh anointing he promised.
  • This is the appointed time for the righteous to live by faith.
  • This is the appointed time for the children of God to open up their eyes to see the new thing God is doing in the world.
  • God is looking to remove the blinders that have kept us from seeing or continuing to see his plan.
  • God is uncovering and exposing the wells that the enemy has covered over (Gen. 26:18)

IV.  SEE THE GOOD IN THE MIDST OF THE BAD

  • God desires for his people to experience his blessing and favor even when times don’t seem good.
  • God is and will always be:-
  1. Water for the dry and thirsty
  2. Food for the hungry
  3. Freshness for the state in heart
  4. Hope for the hopeless
  5. Sight for the blind
  6. Courage to the fearful
  7. Strength for the weary
  8. Everything that we could ever need.

CONCLUSION

  • In these last days God is restoring the right pattern to his church so that he may release the highest level of his anointing that any other generation has ever received.
  • This fresh anointing will depend on our relationship with God and fellowship with him.
  • His highest level of anointing will not discriminate, whether male or female, poor or rich, young or old (Joel 2:28-30)
  • In this fresh anointing the first shall be last and last shall be first. God will use people you never thought could be used of God
  • Let us align and place ourselves in the place of God’s fresh anointing now

Þ Be sure you are saved

Þ Be sure you live a holy life

Þ Be sure to ask by faith for his final greatest anointing

Þ Let us pray in faith
