SERIES: THE GRACE OF GOD

TEXT: 2^nd CORINTIANS 12:1-10

Grace Refers to God’s favor upon those who have transgressed His law and sinned Against Him. There is another meaning of grace- Influence or a force or power that works in us to change our capacities for work suffering and obedience.

Many a time we talk of the throne of grace, with the character and inclination To treat people better than they deserve.

In life there are moments that are trying, moments where things are difficult. It is at such times that Grace Empowers us to stand, go through pain without feeling the full force of the pain.

In the part of life suffering is unavoidable. We can however mitigate it’s pain through the word of God and our faith. We have examples of people who suffered like job Apostle Paul, the apostles of our Lord Jesus the nation of Israel ETC. More about the help that God gives us as we go through suffering.

FOR CASE OF APOSTLE PAUL SECOND 2^ND CORINTHIANS 12:1-10.

Paul was the greater postal who emphasized for gospel of Grace, a new teaching.
Paul received this doctrine of grace from the Lord himself Galatians 1:11-17.
After Paul got saved he went to Arabia where he lived for three years before returning to Damascus.
Sometime in his ministry of grace he was called to the third heaven- to paradise the third heaven. He saw the beauty of heaven and hard great mysteries from God which he says is not permitted to utter. None of the apostles of Jesus was ever called to paradise in the course of their ministry.
To keep Paul Amber not to be proud because of the heavenly visit God put a thorn in his flesh 2^nd Corinthians 12:7

WHY BELIEVERS ENCOUNTER SUFFERING.

Suffering is a consequence of sin:- after the fall of man in the Garden of Eden some problems came whose suffering continues even now. Our own sinful and wrong choices also cause pain Isaiah 48:12.
Suffering as a tool sanctification:- God uses suffering as part of our development. Suffering causes our focus on God more So God uses it to develop our faith.
Suffering as a test of faith:- we demonstrate the truth of faith to the world through suffering. Faith is tested as fire tests and purifies gold-1st Peter 1:7.

GOD’S GRACE IS SUFFICIENT IN SUFFERING.

Consider being in the rain an umbrella shields you from rain. Being in the cold, warm clothes shield you from the cold.
Being in suffering God’s grace is a buffer to our pains- it shields us.
No believer is exempted from suffering John 16: 33.
Apostle Paul went through pain: 3 times beaten with rods, once stoned, shipwrecked 3 times ETC. Yet he moves on with preaching the gospel because the grace of God comforted him 2^nd Corinthians 11:25.
The word of God says about us believers that we are hard pressed on every side but not crashed, perplexed but not in despair, persecuted but not abandoned struck down but not destroyed. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away yet inwardly we are being renewed 2^nd Corinthians 4: 7-11.
The grace of God comes according to the challenge we face sickness, hunger, bereavement, death etc it comes to minister for particular season.
