GOD HAS BIG WINDOWS.

SERIES: MALACHI TODAY.

TEXT: MALACHI 3:10

There are four times in the Bible where God says He will open a window in heaven. A window is an opening in the wall or roof of a building to admit light or air, to allow people to see in or have access in or out in an emergency. Usually we keep our windows shut or slightly open, God too. Let us look at four windows and see how we might profit from them. Let us learn:-

WINDOWS OF JUDGEMENT.

  1. Why the judgement fell.
  1. The world at the time of Noah fell into great sin. They became so immoral and evil that God regretted He ever made human beings.
  • God said He would destroy all life on the planet, except Noah’ family.
  1. The windows of God’s judgement opened up and downed the world with flood.
  2. In the 600th year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the foundations of the great deep broken up.
  • The windows of heaven were opened and all flesh in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died-Gen. 7:11, 22-23
  1. Jesus said, “As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the days of the coming of the son of man.”
  • We live in similar times, when perversity and violence are sweeping the whole world.
  • The window of judgement will be opened again someday soon.
  1. Facts about sin.
  • In order for us to avoid the judgement that will fall on the world.
  • We need to know 5 things about sin:-
  1. Sin can never be hidden.
  • We can try to hide our sins, hoping they won’t be found out but God says, “Be sure your sin will find you out-Numb. 32:23. “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good-Prov. 15:3.
  • We cannot hide sin, doing so only creates more problems.
  1. Sin is never victimless.
  • Sin always has consequences, ramifications.
  • Where sin occurs people get hurt, sin always has victims.
  1. Sin is never insignificant; God hates sin.
  • It does not matter whether it’s a “big” sin or a “little” sin.
  • God hates sin. Why? Because God is holy and totally pure.
  • If God allows even a dust particle of sin, it would contaminate Him.
  • Sins we allow, God displises lust, dishonesty, rudeness, arrogance, pride.
  • We think we are ok, but sin hurts God.
  • You wouldn’t take a glass of water if it had only a drop of poison.
  1. Sin is never forgotten.
  • God never forgets anything.
  • When the Bible says God has forgotten our sins literally means “God will never raise our sins” not forgetting sin.
  • Jeremiah 17:1, “The sins of Judah is written with a pen of iron and with the point of diamond; it is graven upon the table of their heart.”
  • Jeremiah 14:10, “The Lord will now remember their iniquity and visit their sins.” Sin is always a serious business.
  1. Sin is never beyond God’s forgiveness.
  • Every sin you have ever committed-God will forgive.
  • God will never ignore sin-but He will forgive it-1st John 8:9.
  • To avoid the window of judgement we need to go to the foot of the cross and trust in the sacrifice of Christ on Calvary’s cross for our sins.

WINDOWS OF PROVISION-Mal. 3:10.

“Bring all (your) tithes into the storehouse that there may be food in mine house, and prove me now herewith, says the Lord of host if I will not open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

  1. God is our provider.
  • God is Jehovah Jireh, “The Lord our provider.”
  • God wants to walk with you, care for you and provide for you.
  • He sees what you need.
  • God will “supply all you need by Christ Jesus.”
  • God desires to “pour” out blessings on you, the outcome can be huge that we won’t have capacity to receive it all!!
  • However most of God’s promises have conditions.
  1. God asks for the tithe.
  1. The word “tithe” means “tenth” of our income belongs to God.
  2. Where do you bring your tithe?
  • “Bring” don’t send but “Bring” the whole tithe into the storehouse”-Mal. 3:10.
  • You are to “bring” your tithe to the storehouse.
  • You are not to tithe to an individual pastor, outreach, mission etc. tithe must be brought to the church.
  1. The church is the foundation, upon which all other ministries are built.
  2. The purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives-Deut. 14:23.

WINDOWS OF DELIVERANCE-1st Cor. 10:13.

  1. The key to victory over temptation is surrendering our entire life to Jesus Christ and allowing Christ to reign in us.
  • If we surrender all, then there is nothing left of us for the devil to get hold of.
  • Wrestlers usually “oil” themselves up so that their opponent can get a good grip on them.
  1. The way to escape-the way out is Jesus Christ.
  • In temptation you need to cling to God.
  • At the point of temptation begin asking Jesus Christ to save you from the temptation.

WINDOWS OF MIRACLES-2nd Kings 7:2.

  1. Samaria was surrounded by armies. There has been a long siege, there was no food.
  • God used unusual people to do it, four lepers!!
  1. God is a God of miracles all the time-Heb. 13:8.

CONCLUSION

  • There are four windows that God will open for you.
  • If you are in sin, it is the window of judgement that will open. Come to the cross of Jesus Christ today and get forgiveness.
  • The window of provision. He will open the windows of provision if you bring all the tithes in to the storehouse. Give and God will give it back to you.
  • Are you tempted? Take the route of escape.
  • Is there a famine, a siege-ask for a miracle you will get abundance from God.
  • The tithe mathematically is 10%. Morally there is a debt, the tithe economically is an investment, spiritually the tithe is a blessing.
