GUARD YOUR DESTINY FROM THE ENEMY

SERIES: HOW TO FULFILL YOUR DIVINE DESTINY. 

TEXT: JOHN 10:10, ISAIAH 45:2

 

Guarding your destiny is not automatic it requires vigilance, spiritual discipline and alignment with God’s will. When you guard your destiny you secure your relevance, your inheritance and your eternal reward. 

In (John 10:10) – “The thief cometh not but for to steal and to kill and to destroy. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Destiny is God’s divine plan and purpose for each person’s life. It is the blueprint of heaven concerning what you were created to achieve on earth. Every believer has a God given, God ordained destiny, but there is also an enemy who fights tirelessly to hinder, delay or destroy it. 

The devil is a thief. He seeks to rob men and women of their destinies. He does this through distractions, sins, wrong associations and spiritual attacks. However God has made provision for us to guard preserve and fulfill our destinies in Christ.

 Let us learn how to really guard our precious destinies. 

UNDERSTANDING THE REALITY OF DESTINY ENEMIES. 

  • Every destiny has enemies that rise against it but victory belongs to those who remain spiritually alert.

The devil is the ultimate enemy of destiny-(1st Peter 5:8).

  • He prow is around seeking to devour lives and derail purpose.

Human agents can oppose destinies-(Nehemiah 4:1-3).

  • Sometimes people influenced by darkness rise to frustrate progress.

Household enemies are dangerous-(Matt. 10:36).

  • Close relatives may become tools in the hands of the adversary.
  • Relatives from both mother’s side or father’s side may work together to frustrate your destiny.

Internal weaknesses also war against destiny-(Rom. 7:23).

  • Sin, fear and doubt can sabotage divine assignment.
  • Joseph’s brother conspired to kill his destiny-(Gen. 37:18-20)

KEYS TO GUARDING YOUR DESTINY. 

  • Destiny requires spiritual discipline, wisdom and divine empowerment to be preserved.

Prayer is a shield of destiny-(Luke 22:31-32).

  • Jesus Christ prayed for Peter so that his Faith would not fail.

The word of God preserves destiny-(Psalms 119:105).

  • The scripture is a lamp to guide your path.

Righteous living protects destiny-(Proverbs 14:34).

    • Holiness keeps the enemy from having a foothold.
  • “Righteousness exalts a nation but sin condemns any people.”

Discernment is vital-(1st John 4:1)

  • The ability to recognize satanic traps is crucial for preservation.
  • Daniel preserved his destiny in Babylon through prayer and righteousness-(Daniel 6:10).

STRATEGIES THE ENEMY USES TO DESTROY DESTINIES. 

  • The enemy works through deception seeking to derail men before they realize.

Sin is the biggest trap the enemy uses-(Judges 16:19-21)

  • Samson lost his destiny to sexual immorality.

Wrong associations-(1st Cor. 15:33).

  • Evil company corrupts good destinies.

Distractions and misplaced priorities-(Luke 10:40-42)

  • Martha was distracted from the main thing, the care of her soul.

Ignorance of God’s word-(Hosea 4:6)

  • Lack of knowledge exposes destinies to distraction.
  • Esau lost his destiny because of carelessness and appetite-(Gen. 25:29-34).
  • DIVINE RESOURCES FOR DESTINY PRESERVATIONS.
  • God equips every believer with weapons to secure their destiny against the enemy.

The armour of God-(Eph. 6:11).

  • Believers must be clothed with spiritual armour for protection.

The blood of Jesus Christ-(Rev. 12:11).

  • The blood of Jesus Christ speaks better things and shields destinies.

The ministry of the Holy Spirit-(John 16:15).

  • The spirit guides and empowers us to fulfill destiny.

Godly mentors and spiritual covering-(Hebrews 13:7)

  • Destiny flourishes under divine guidance and covering-(2nd Timothy 4:7).

VICTORY IN GUARDING YOUR DESTINY. 

  • Destiny preservation leads to fulfilment and victory in Christ.

Fulfilment comes by staying focused on Christ-(Heb. 12:2).

  • Looking unto Jesus helps us overcome distractions.

Perseverance ensures completion of destiny-(Phil 3:14)

  • Pressing toward the mark secures the crown.

Faith guarantees triumph over adversaries-(1st John 5:4)

  • It is by faith we overcome the enemy of destiny.

 Surrender to God ensures destiny security-(Prov. 3:5-6)

  • Trusting Him guarantees divine direction.
  • Joseph guarded his destiny and eventually fulfilled it by becoming a ruler in Egypt to save his family-(Gen. 41:39-41)

CONCLUSION 

  • Every destiny is precious and worth guarding.
  • The Devil fights destinies because he fears the fulfilment of God’s plan in your life.
  • When you live in prayer, holiness, discernment and reliance on God’s resources your destiny will be preserved.
  • Guard your destiny with diligence and you will finish your course gloriously.
