NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST YOU SHALL PROSPER

ISAIAH 54:15-17

INTRODUCTION

The pathway to the destroyers and wasters is sin. There is nothing that sold men into the hand of the devil and his agents like sin. This passage tells us though that the fight we are involved in has been “fixed”, God has destined us to win no matter how hard the devil fights or ingenious he is, all we have to do is keep holding onto Jesus and Jesus will hold on to us. For God is with you when you are with God. The Berlin wall came down in 1988, the communist had dominated more than half the world, and they had boasted the Christianity will die, but God had another plan (Isaiah 54:11-17)

Let us learn:-

I.  GOD’S PROMISES TO HIS PEOPLE

1. The afflicted church- comforted.
2. God begins by telling the children of Israel- the church of the Old Testament, that He is distressed with them and He is in all their distresses.

• When God’s people suffer, God suffers more!!

2. Some of you are experiencing tough times and maybe devastated. God says He is actually hurting with you! He is touched with the feeling of our infirmities”
3. God prophecies how He will turn everything around for you (v.11-14)
4. In (v.15-16). God hints at your enemies and to His ability to control those enemies.

• The “Blacksmith” is the one who makes the weapons.
• The “destroyer” is the one who takes the weapons out to fight.

5. Since God created the “blacksmith” and the “destroyer” the user of the weapons, God, therefore, knows everything about the weapons and their uses against us.
6. The fight is fixed
7. God assures us victory. With God’s help, we can’t help but win. “If God be for us, who can be against you? (Rom.8:31)
8. In boxing and football worlds, there is always a lot of gambling. Sometimes the obvious favorite somehow lost the fight, the charges arise that the fight or match had been fixed!
9. What it means is that someone had paid a large amount of money to the favored boxer or player to get him to lose the match.
10. Those who bet on the weaker boxer are sure to make fortune!
11. In a fight that is “fixed” one combatant is guaranteed to win even before the fight starts.
12. In our fight with Satan, God is on our side we can’t lose.
13. The adversary the devil is predetermined to be defeated by you!
14. You may not win in the first round, second or 7, but the devil is going down altogether.

• Jesus said “behold I give you power to tread over serpents and scorpions (Luke 10:19)
• No temptation can prevail (I Cor.10:13)
• No weapon formed against you shall prosper! Glory (v.17)

II.  TWO THINGS IMPLIED IN ISAIAH 54:17

1. You have a determined enemy who is out to destroy you.
2. There is a real enemy who seeks to destroy us (John 10:10)

• When you are in a conflict, you cannot forget the enemy wants to knock you out.
• We must be sober and alert all the time.

1. That He has forged weapons against you.

• These weapons are uniquely crafted for each one of us.
• Our weaknesses are studied, our vulnerabilities are observed, what people around us can fail us, what kind of situations can shake our faith?
• The enemy designs weapons best fitted to penetrate our defences or most effective in causing us spiritual confusion and damage.
• Haman schemed to destroy Mordecai and the Jews.
• He build lofty gallows (90ft) to display and shame the people of God.
• But there was a God in the Courts of heaven and an Esther in the Palace of Shushan. Instead of Mordecai hanging on the gallows, it was Haman.
• Pharaoh pursued Israel to the red sea. Pharaoh said to his men “Do you fear to tread where slaves are bold?” His men boldly dashed between the walls of water.
• Moses waved the rod and the mighty waters crashed on the Egyptians!

1. Temptations as weapons
2. Your past, an Addiction, Sickness, Friends and family betrayal, Depression, Catastrophes, Joblessness and Car troubles.
3. If the enemy cannot stop you, he wants to make you ineffective, unproductive- no weapon shall prevail.

III.  GOOD NEWS; YOU ARE INVINCIBLE IN CHRIST.

1. “Prosper” means to “push forward” unmoved by attacks
2. This does not mean it won’t hurt or that we won’t be momentarily stunned and confused.
3. Nothing the enemy can throw at us will succeed if we are walking with God.
4. Balaam a sorcerer tried to curse Israel- His curses were turned into blessings (Numbers 23)
5. You are perfectly safe.

• No weapon
• Imagine weapons of men- hand grenades, guns, missiles, bombs, clusters, land mines, Bowlby- traps, planes, drones, explosives, laser beams, atoms, neutrons, bombs, tanks, artillery, sound wave weapons, Em pulse, cyber etc.
• How about the weapons of satan! But they will not prosper.

CONCLUSION:

• It is time for you to be set free from weapons.
• Today you must refute every tongue that accuses you. Today refuse all evil prophecies against your life.
• Don’t ignore your problems- they will not go away, refute every tongue that accuses you.
• Jesus is the victor, we are the enforcers, Jesus is the redeemer we are the releasers, Jesus is the head we are the body.
