POWER IN THE BLOOD-UNDER THE BLOOD.

SERIES: POWER

TEXT: LEVITICUS 14:14-18; REVELATION 12:11.

The Holy Spirit is impressing on us the importance and the power of the blood of Jesus Christ. The church must get back to the blood, not only in our thinking but also in our speaking and in our living.

In Joshua 2:18, Rahab the harlot saved herself and her entire family from destruction when she hung a scarlet thread from her window. The scarlet thread represents the blood.

In Exodus 12:23, the children of Israel saved their families from the death angel when they applied the blood of the lamb to the top and the side of their door posts. Let us notice:-

A LOOK AT OUR TEXT-Lev. 14:14-18

• This text deals with the cleansing of the leper.
• Leprosy in the Old Testament was a type of sin.
• The leper was not considered clean until he blood was applied.
• The leper was pronounced clean by the application of the blood, then the priest would apply the oil right on top of the blood.
• The oil was applied where the blood was present.

The importance of that to you and I, is this:-

• The Holy Spirit answers to the blood.
• The Holy Spirit witnesses to the blood.
• The Holy Spirit honors the blood.
• The Holy Spirit testifies to the blood.
• The Holy Spirit waits for the blood.
• The Holy Spirit only comes where the blood has been applied.

First, it’s the blood then it’s the oil.

• No blood no salvation.
• No blood no justification.
• No blood no deliverance.
• No blood no sanctification.
• No blood, no oil, no power, no anointing, no peace, no authority, no joy, no protection.

• That is why the Holy Spirit is trying to bring the church back UNDER THE BLOOD-Heb. 9:22.
• There is no Pentecost without a Passover.

THERE IS NO FIRE WITHOUT THE BLOOD-Acts 2:1-4

• On the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit came to the upper room and baptized 120 men and women in supernatural fire.
• You have got to go to Calvary before you can get to the upper room.
• The pathway to power is soaked in blood.
• If you want to walk in power with the lion of Judah, you first have to be covered under the blood of the lamb.
• Thank God for the blood.
• The heart of pleading the blood of Jesus Christ must come back to the church.
• The revivalists of the past knew how to plead the blood on everything: the house, the car, the dog, the cat, chicken, the pigs, the garden, the children, everything was covered with the blood of Jesus Christ-WE MUST COME BACK UNDER THE BLOOD.

PLEADING THE BLOOD.

• “Pleading” is a legal term. It is an answer to a judgement.
• The judge says, “you have been judged with such and such crime, how do you plead?”
• This time the judge is asking, what is your defense to this and the accused would answer, “I plead guilty or not guilty.”
• When the devil comes accusing you and me that you have sinned and come short of the glory of God, what is your defense?
• That is when you look at the devil in the eye and you say, “I plead the blood of Jesus.”
• I plead the blood, the blood is my defense, the blood speaks for me.
• You may have a beautiful church, with a beautiful pulpit, you may have money and talent, you may have education and position, but without the blood you have no power!!!
• Without the blood of Jesus Christ we are dead.
• You may be beautiful, great zeal, educated preacher, but without the blood of Jesus you are only a pretty, beautiful corpse.
• Just like a dead body dressed up by the undertaker to look good for a funeral-without the blood you are dead.
• Without the blood of Jesus Christ-churches have become zombies (living dead or walking dead).
• Any church or Christian without the blood of Christ is a zombie-they are walking dead (spiritual zombies).
• There is nothing like a Christian without the blood.
• Jesus said, “Except you eat my flesh and drink my blood you have no life in you.”
• The gospel is a bloody gospel, Calvary was bloody, the cross was bloody, the mercy seat was bloody, the throne of grace is bloody.
• God the father accepted Jesus’ blood as an offering for sin.
• We are washed, sanctified, justified, redeemed, protected and delivered by the blood.
• What can wash away my sin, nothing but the blood of Jesus. There is a fountain filled with the blood drawn from Immanuel’s veins and sinners plunged beneath the flood lose all their guilty stains.

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing blood?

• 12:11, “And they overcame the devil by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony.”
• If we want to see the power of God in the church again talk about the blood, sing about the blood, testify about the blood, preach about the blood and look for the blood.

Where is the blood? In the family, church, country and upon your own life?

• There was blood on the right ear.
• There was blood on the right thumb.
• There was blood on the big toe of the right foot.
• Then oil, after the blood was applied the priest dumped the rest of the oil on the cleansed leper’s head.
• The head is representative of the whole body. When the head is anointed the body is anointed.
• The cross of Jesus Christ is the doorway to power. There is no shortcut to power. We must go through Calvary and the empty tomb.

CONCLUSION

• The devil is not afraid of our singing, our shouting and our dancing, he is not afraid of our preaching, but the blood of Calvary.
• The church must wage war by the power of the blood.
• The church must know to plead the blood.
• “And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony”-Rev. 12:11.
