RESTORATION OF BROKEN FOUNDATION

SERIES: DIVINE TOUCH

TEXT: ISAIAH 61:1-11

Our message today deals with separating from evil human foundations. Certain people try to build on foundations that had already been destroyed through the sins of their ancestors. How do we restore or repair a damaged human foundation? Can a foundation be repaired? The answer to this question is found in Isaiah 58:12. “And they that shall be of thee shall build the old foundations of many generations, and thou shalt be called the repairers of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in.”

  • The passage above clearly indicates that though foundations can be pulled down or destroyed they can equally be raised up and restored.
  • This also applies to the foundation of human beings.
  • Foundations of many generations can be restored and that the Lord can use an individual or nation, to repair what has been destroyed.
  • Dear friends never be deceived, there is a pathway to greatness and this pathway can be destroyed.
  • The goodness though is not that it can be restored.
  • The Lord will restore your pathway to greatness today in the name of Jesus Christ.

THE LORD WILL REPAIR YOUR BREECH.

Pray:

  • Oh Lord, restore my pathway to greatness and glory in the name of Jesus Christ.
  • Oh Lord, restore my pathway to promotion and success in the name of Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 44:26, “That confirmeth the word of his servant and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, ye shall be built and I will raise up her decayed places.”

  • This passage indicates that the pronouncement of restoration of the servant of God up on the city of God shall be fulfilled.

Prophecy:

I stand as the servant of God and declare that you shall be inhabited with blessings and goodness. I declare that your foundation shall be rebuild and your decayed blessings shall be restored in the name of Jesus Christ.

  • After a person has been separated from his evil foundation several things must happen in his/her life.
  • The damaged foundation must then be restored.

DIVINE VISITATION-Isaiah 32:15.

“Until the spirit shall be poured upon us from on high and the wilderness shall be a fruitful field and the fruitful field shall be counted for a forest.”

  • The above scripture reveals that a destroyed foundation will not be restored until the spirit is poured up on it from on high.
  • Here the Bible refers to the Holy Spirit.
  • In other words the Bible tells us that one must experience heavenly or divine visitation-(divine touch).
  • Now after experiencing this divine visitation according to this scripture the following things shall happen.
  1. A wilderness/desert shall become a fruitful field.
  2. A fruitful field shall become a forest.
  • The first sentence means where nothing good was produced before shall now produce much fruit. The fruit shall be turned into a forest.
  • Picture a forest in your mind. Next imagine it as a forest full of fruits.
  • This means wherever you turn to in the forest you encounter fruits.
  • Fruits of goodness, blessings, success and glory.

PRAY:

  • Oh Lord, please turn my wilderness into fruitful field and my fruitful field into a forest in the name of Jesus Christ.

From what we have seen and read so far, for a man to experience restoration after he has been separated from his evil foundation, he must experience divine visitation and the:-

  1. Change in identity-Isaiah 62:2-4.
  • The next thing a man must experience for his foundation to be restored is his identity must change.

“And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness and kings thy glory; and thou shalt be called by the new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name.

Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and royal diadem.

Thou shalt no more be termed forsaken, neither desolate; but thou shalt be called Hephzl-bah, and thy land Beulah; For the Lord delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.

  • This passage states that the Lord shall call you a new name.
  • Hephzl-bah means “delight is in her.”
  • Beulah means “married.”
  • The Lord shall delight himself in you and your land shall be married to His goodness.
  • So, after the Lord has separated you from your evil foundation.
  • You shall experience a divine visitation.
  • You shall receive a new name- a new identity from the Lord.
  • A look at Biblical examples of the above principle

Abraham

  • Divine visitation-Gen. 15:12-13.

“And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and lo a horror of great darkness fell upon him.

And he said unto Abram, know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and thou shall afflict them for hundred years.

  • Name/identity change-Gen. 17:5.
  • God changed Abram to Abraham.
  • Abram means “High father.”
  • Abraham means “multitude,” “populous,” or “father of many nations.”
  • Abraham was originally from an idolatrous background, probably he was named Abram “High father” by his parents because they wanted him to be a high priest.
  • But God changed his name to Abraham, “Father of many nations.”

Jacob

  • Divine visitation.
  • Jacob experienced his divine visitation from and angel-Gen. 32:24.

“And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him, until the breaking of day.”

It is made clear that the person referred to above who wrestled with Jacob was an angel.

  • Change of identity-Gen. 32:27.

“And He said to him, what is thy name? and he said, Jacob.

And He said thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel; For as a prince hast thou power with God and with men and hast prevailed.”

  • Jacob means “supplanter.”
  • Israel means, “He will rule as God” or “a prince with God.”
  • So, God changed Jacob’s name from “supplanter” to “prince with God.”

PRAY:

  • Oh Lord, let me experience your divine visitation in the name of Jesus Christ.
  • Oh Lord give me a new identity in the name of Jesus Christ.

Other examples include Sarai “dominative” to “Sarah” which means “princess.”

  • Saul was changed to Paul-Acts 9:4-5.
  • Divine visitation does not mean necessarily that one must see a vision or an angel, but that one must have divine experience, a touch from God, an encounter with God.
  • The day of Pentecost was a divine encounter, the Holy Spirit came upon them in real person-Luke 24:49.
  • Also, a change of name does not necessarily mean the person’s name must change.
  • David’s initial name of a shepherd boy, a messenger, but God changed to a “courageous warrior” and then to that of a king.
  • Joseph’s identity was that of a day dreamer, but God changed Joseph to “dream interpreter” and then to a “great ruler.”
  • After you have gone through this changes, God will then give you “divine promotion.”
  • Hannah the mother of Samuel, Elizabeth the mother of John the Baptist were initially identified as barren women.
  • Through divine visitation, God changed their identities and their lives.
  • Hannah bore five more children after she sowed Samuel as a seed to the Lord-1st 2:21.
  • God is still in the business of visiting His children and changing their names and identities.

CONCLUSION-Prayer

  • Oh Lord change my identity for good in the name of Jesus.
  • Every power that wants me to remain the same, die now in the name of Jesus Christ.
  • I shall not live by the evil identity of my fore fathers in the name of Jesus Christ.
  • Oh Lord, rectify my identity by fire, let me experience your divine visitation.
