SEXUAL IMMORALITY

SERIES: THROUGH THE BOOK OF EPHESIANS

TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:3.

 

In the process of sanctification and godliness, sexual immorality is a big subject. All other sins are out of the body except the sin of sexual immorality-1^st Cor. 6:18. There is no other sin in the Bible that arouses the anger of God more than sexual immorality. Among the works of the flesh sexual immorality is at the top-Gal. 5:19. The sexual immoral persons will not inherit the kingdom of God-1^st Cor. 6:9. The biggest industry of satan is in sex. Sexual immorality is such a serious matter that it is the only ground where divorce is allowed in the Bible-Matt. 19:9.

DESTINY CAN BE STOLEN THROUGH SEX.

• Sexual immorality causes two people to be one. Spiritually the two become one and demons are shared. Destiny is killed through sexual immorality.
• Every devil worshiping feasts include sexual immorality. It is part of the worship of satan.
• Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife to secure destiny and God made him the prime minister in a foreign country.
• If he had done sexual act with the woman God would not appoint him as prime minister-Genesis 39:11-12.
• Sickness demons can be passed through sexual immorality; not just venereal diseases even other diseases.
• People who engage in premarital sex are more likely to divorce than those who maintained purity-Hebrews 13:4-6.
• Sexual sin opens a door for satan to enter your life.

HOW SEXUAL IMMORALITY IGNITES THE WRATH OF GOD.

• Sodom and Gomorrah; God rained sulfur and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah because of sexual immorality-Genesis 19:24-25.
• Flood of God; during the time of Noah immorality increased and women did sex with demons, they had spiritual husbands-Genesis 6:1-3.
• Immorality with Moabite women; the men of Israel began committing sexual immorality with the women of Moab. This ignited the anger of God and He killed 23,000 Israelites whom He had brought out of Egypt.
• Samson; was a one man army. He was strong and could fight the entire Palestinian army. He could kill lions. Sexual immorality brought him down and he was killed.
• King David; did adultery secretly. God told him that though He forgive David, sexual immorality would be done in his house openly. His own son Ammon raped his sister Tamar. David’s son Absalom had sexual intercourse with David’s wives in the sight of the public-2^nd Samuel 16:22.

SATAN’S LIES ABOUT IMMORALITY.

1. God will forgive the sin and its effects (lie). God forgives the sin but you live with the results (true).
2. Lie: “I will do it only once.

Truth: once you do it, it becomes a trap, the lust grows bigger.

3. Lie; I can do it and compensate God by serving Him.

Truth: obedience to God is better than sacrifice-1^st Sam. 15:22.

4. Lie: everyone is doing it.

Truth: there are people who have kept themselves pure.

WINNING THE WAR AGAINST LUST.

• Discipline: Embrace discipline, living a self-controlled life. No indisciplined person gets distinguished in life. Apostle Paul spoke about disciplining his body-1^st 9:27. Live a controlled life. Life’s outcome is a product of choices.
• Peer pressure: do not befriend immoral people-1^st 5:9-13.
• Media intake: The media garbage that enters your mind from some movies, podcasts, novels etc builds lust for immorality in you, avoid it.
• Prayer and fasting: This is the most effective way of destroying sexual lusts in your mind, do it from time to time.
• Flee: When trapped in lust run away-2^nd Timothy 2:22.
• Idleness: An idle mind is the devil’s workshop. Avoid being idle.

CONCLUSION

• God expects every believer to live a moral life: flee from sexual sin, God will not leave sin unpunished.
• It is better to marry than to burn with lust-1^st 7:9
