THE ANCIENT GATES MUST OPEN.

TEXT: PSALM 24:7-10

Some spiritual gates and doors control access to destinies, blessings and divine encounters. These gates can either open to allow divine interventions or remain shut causing stagnation and delay. Psalm 24 presents a prophetic call for the ancient gates to be lifted so that the King of Glory may enter.

Ancient gates refer to long standing obstacles, ancestral limitations, foundational strongholds or spiritual barriers that have resisted the move of God in one’s life or family for generations. These ancient gates are not physical but spiritual systems that govern access to territories, opportunities, breakthroughs and divine purposes.

The good news is that Jesus Christ, The King of Glory has power over every gate. When Jesus Christ approaches, gates must lift, doors must open and barriers must be broken.

Today, let us learn how to identify, confront and open every ancient gates standing between us and God’s best for our lives:-

IDENTIFYING THE ANCIENT GATES.

·         You cannot confront what you have not recognized.

1.      Ancestral limitations

·         These are negative patterns inherited from family lines-(Exodus 20:5).

2.      Foundational errors.

·         Mistakes or covenants from the past can erect spiritual barriers-(Lamentations 5:7).

3.      Long standing Battles.

·         Battles that persist across generations are often tied to ancient gates-(Judges 6: 25-30).

4.      Geographical or Territorial strongholds.

·         Some regions are spiritually fortified against the move of God-(Daniel 10-13).

·          Biblical examples include the city of Jericho.

·         The Jericho’s gate was securely shut until God brought it down for Joshua-(Joshua 6:1-20)

UNDERSTANDING THE AUTHORITY OF THE KING OF GLORY.

·         Only Jesus Christ can command ancient gates to open.

1.      He holds the keys of David.

·         What He opens, no man can shut-(Rev. 3:7).

2.      He is the Mighty man in Battle.

·         He defeats unseen forces and clears spiritual blockages-(Psalm 24:8).

3.      His presence demands access.

·         When the King comes in, resistance ends-(Psalm 114:7)

4.      His Name breaks every barrier.

·         At the Name of Jesus Christ every gate must respond-(Phil. 2:9-10).

·         Jesus Christ cast out the legion of demons and set free the demoniac of Gadara from a long standing bondage-(Mark 5:1-15).

 SPEAKING TO THE GATES IN PRAYER.

·         Everything, living or dead has a spiritual ear.

·         Gates has spiritual ears and must be addressed with bold prophetic declarations.

1.      Your mouth is a weapon.

·         You can command gates to open through Faith filled words-(Mark 11:23).

2.      Spiritual authority must be exercised.

·         Believers have power to bind and loose-(Matt. 16:19).

·         Believers have been given the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven to bind and to loose.

3.      Consistent declarations weaken resistance.

·         Speaking the word repeatedly breaks stubborn gates-(Jeremiah 23:29)

4.      Prayer and fasting add force to your declarations.

·         Some gates require deeper spiritual engagements-(Matt. 17:21)

INVITING THE PRESENCE OF GOD.

·         The King of Glory enters whenever He is welcomed.

1.      Praise opens the gates.

·         God inhabits the praises of His people-(Psalm 100:4; Psalm 22:3).

2.      Holiness creates an atmosphere for His presence.

·         Only those who are pure in heart shall see God-(Matt. 5:8).

3.      The Word of God ushers Him in-(John 1:1).

4.      Worship brings divine encounter.

·         When God’s presence comes, ancient gates flee-(2^nd Chronicles 5:13-14).

·         Paul and Silas worshipped in prison and the gates broke open-(Acts 16:25-26)

WALKING IN CONTINUOUS VICTORY.

·         Once the gates are open, stay aligned with God’s will.

·         Maintain your spiritual life, stay connected to Jesus Christ-(John 15:5).

·         Avoid old patterns of life. Never go back to that which kept you bound-(Galatians 5:1).

·         Keep your gates guarded.

·         Protect your heart and mind from infiltrations-(Proverbs 4:23).

·         Help others to open their gates, become a gate opener for your family and community- (Isaiah 60:11).

CONCLUSION

·         Ancient gates are real, but they are no match for the King of Glory.

·         When Jesus Christ arises nothing can resist His entry.

·         Arise in faith, address every gate by Name and welcome the presence of the King of Glory into every area of your life. As you do it divine access, supernatural breakthroughs and generational Liberty will become your portion.

PRAY:-

·         Lord, open every ancient gates resisting my destiny.

·         Father, let the King of Glory enter every area of my life.

·         I command ancestral and foundational gates to be lifted now.

·         Let every spiritual barrier blocking my breakthrough be destroyed.

·         Today, I receive divine access to new realms of Glory and Favor.
