THE BEAST FROM THE EARTH

SERIES: THE SCHOOL OF PROPHECY.

TEXT: REVELATION 13:11-15.

Last Wednesday we met the man who will be known as the Anti-Christ-Daniel 8:23-25.

In Revelation 13:1-10, the anti-Christ is called the beast from the sea. Today we are looking at another man called the beast from the earth or false prophet. Satan is an imitator. He imitator God the creator of all. In the holy trinity we have the father, the son and the Holy Spirit. The devil will have an unholy trinity composed of satan, the anti-Christ and the false prophet. Satan has no original ideal, he copies.

Each member of the holy trinity has a particular purpose. God the father receives the worship of His people through His son the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit is the facilitator of this holy worship. The Holy Spirit stirs up the heart of the believer and causes him or her to worship God.

In the satan’s unholy trinity, satan receives the worship through the anti-Christ and the false prophet facilitates this worship, we have already discussed, satan and the anti-Christ. Today let us look at the false prophet. The false prophet will lead and guide the world’s religion during the tribulation period.

Let us look at the beast from the earth:-

THE PERSONALITY OF THIS BEAST FROM THE EARTH-Rev. 13:11.

What he displays.

• This second beast is a man just like the first beast was.
• The word, “another” in Greek means, “allos” which means “another of the same kind and quality.”
• The character we see here is another man-Rev. 19:20.
• This beast comes from the earth, while the first beast comes from the sea. In the Bible the “sea” means “sea of people.” The beast from the earth means the beast is earthly.
• This beast has horns which are symbol of power.
• He has “two horns.” Two is a number that symbolizes “testimony” or witness.
• While the first beast (anti-Christ) had power because of the territory he ruled, this beast will have power because of the testimony he gives.
• The first beast had 10 horns, this second beast has two horns.
• The first beast had 10 crowns, this second beast has no crown.
• The first beast is terrifying. He is a leopard, a lion and a bear.
• This second beast is called a “lamb.”
• The first beast (anti-Christ) comes from a great ruler, a world ruler. The beast from the earth appears as a mean, gentleman of faith.
• This beast will appear to the world scene as a gentleman, meek, loving and kind religious man.
• He will have a gentle nature like Joel Osteen or Robert Shuler. He will possess the religious power of the Pope.
• While the anti-Christ will rule the world with brute power and force, this man will attract the world through his pleasant personality and pleasing words.

What he declares.

• Although he appears calm and meek on the outside.
• Although he appears as a man of faith, but when he speaks he speaks like a dragon (satan).
• He will be the mouthpiece of satan himself.
• He will be a religious man, a man of faith but the religion he is promoting is the worship of satan.
• His true nature will be revealed by the words which he will speak-Matt. 12:34.
• It does not take long to know a preacher you only need to listen well enough for a while.
• If a preacher is a “Jesus man” you will know because he will be talking about Jesus Christ. If he is a money and prosperity will also know by how many times he mentions money, houses, land and clothes.

THE POWER OF THIS BEAST-Rev. 13:12.

The source of His power.

“He exercises all the power of the first beast.”

• He will receive his power straight from the devil-Vs. 2.
• The world will accept this “man as a man of God.”
• He will be praised around the entire world as a man of God and the greatest religious leader the world had ever known.
• The whole world will be deceived and will not grasp the truth that he is a beast, the agent of satan until too late.

The scope of his power.

• He will facilitate a world religion.
• He will be able to unite all the religions of this world under one banner.
• He will convince the world that the anti-Christ is a god and that he alone is to be worshipped.
• Men and women from every religion in the whole world will bow and worship the anti-Christ at the bidding of the false prophet.
• Christians, muslims, Judaism, Buddhists, Hindus and Shidoism, African religions and trachtment religions will join together under the false prophet to worship the anti-Christ.
• Why would the entire world worship the anti-Christ? We have seen that the Rev. 13:3-4 that the anti-Christ will be wounded and die and then he will rise from the dead.
• The world would believe that the anti-Christ is Jesus Christ.
• In Thess. 2:4, the anti-Christ will enter the newly built temple in Jerusalem, he will put his throne there and demand to be worshipped as God.
• The anti-Christ and the false prophet are satanic duo.
• The satanic false prophet will spend all his times magnifying the anti-Christ, since he himself is anti-spirit.

THE PERFORMANCE OF THE BEAST-Rev. 13:13-15.

His miracles-Vs. 13-15.

• The false prophet will be a man of miracles.
• He will duplicate the miracles of the two witnesses-Rev. 11:5.
• He will duplicate the miracles of Elijah. He will be able to call fire down.
• He will cause the idol of the anti-Christ to be erected and he will cause the idol to become alive.
• This image will speak to the people. People will fall down and worship the beast and his image.
• The miracles of the false prophet will deceive many people.
• The whole world today is being prepared for a mass delusion of religion that will worship satan-2^nd 2:11

His motive-Vs. 14-15.

• The false prophet will do all these things to cause the world to worship the anti-Christ.
• Those who refuse to worship the anti-Christ will be hunted down and destroyed.
• The world will come together one day.
• It will not be brought together by the United Nations (U.N.)
• It will be the work of satan and he will use the anti-Christ and the false prophet to accomplish his goals in the world.
• The false prophet, the beast from the earth is coming soon.

CONCLUSION

• Our world is heading for some very dark days.
• The time to escape the coming nightmare in now!!
• If you have never trusted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, do it today.
• If you are already saved, praise God you will not see these things for you will be with the Lord in the heavens.
• Seek to tell your loved ones about Jesus Christ for the coming days are really going to be dark days.
