THE MOST ANCIENT ROBBERS

JAMES 1:6-7

INTRODUCTION

Four ancient spiritual robbers have robbed even the best of believers their miracles. When physical things are stolen, they are easy to replace, but it is a different thing when Spiritual things are stolen.  Actually, a physical robber is better than a spiritual robber. A house can be rebuilt and money can be recovered but spiritual things once stolen can not be repaid. For example, when your peace, health or virtue is stolen it is difficult to recover. The greatest spiritual thieves harassing believers and making them to lose their miracles and lives are four:

I.  DOUBT

• Doubt is a powerful thief. Doubt affected the disciples of Jesus (Mark4:40) “And he said unto them, why are you so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?”
• Jesus rebuked His disciples because they doubted His ability to deliver.
• Doubt and unbelief go together, in Mathew 13:58, Christ could not do many works there because of their unbelief. (Matt.9:22-29, Mark 10:52, Luke 7:30, 17:19, 9:23)
• Faith in God can demolish every mountain of difficult and win every battle.
• Your faith does not need to be the size of your problem, even little faith as small as a mustard seed.
• None of us should submit ourselves to any form of Satanic discouragement.

• Never give yourself to God as loan. Those who only give themselves to God on Sunday and only for few hours are only on loan (Heb.11:6).

• Doubt eats away faith. Doubt is the devil’s prostitute. It seduces the faith of God’s people and robs them their blessings.

How to deal with doubt !

1. You must believe what Jesus did for your sake.
2. Cast away your doubt and repent.
3. Always ask in faith and expect answers.
4. Stop doubt at the door of your mind using God’s word, praises, witness and praying in Spirit.
5. Never confess doubt or unbelief with your mouth.
6. Refuse to listen to the doubt of others. Stop discussing your problems with unbelievers.
7. Engage in regular Bible study and prayer.

II.  FEAR

• Fear is a spirit that is seated in many lives.
• In many occasions fear wins victory in many people’s lives.
• Fear causes sleeplessness, anger, bitterness, envy and spiritual paralysis.
• Fear affects both the rich and the poor, The weak and the strong., Young and old.
• Students fear exam, businessmen fear failure, presidents fear coups and elections, musicians fear voice failure and law sales, pregnant mothers fear miscarriage.
• Fear can kill, fear causes loneliness. Only the Resurrection Power of Jesus Christ overcomes fear.

III.  DISCOURAGEMENT

• The person with broken spirit is someone who has lost courage.
• To discourage is to take away the courage (Carriage)

IV.  SADNESS.

• The joy and happiness of the Lord has nothing to do with circumstances (Philippians 1-4).
• Our happiness as Christians is not tied to money, clothes, houses, land etc.

Putting your right hand on your head– Pray

1. Every curse of affliction and oppression, be paralyzed in Jesus Name.
2. All chronic diseases, return to your sender, In Jesus Name.
3. All the counsel of the devil against me, be frustrated in Jesus Name.
4. Every stronghold of the power of darkness in my family, I pull you down in Jesus Name.
5. Every effect of virtual killing done by my ancestors upon my life, be cancelled in the Name of Jesus.
