THE POWER OF HIS PRESENCE

EXODUS 33:13-15

INTRODUCTION

No matter how confused and confusing a situation is, the presence of God will bring order into that situation. We should, therefore, carry the fire of His presence everywhere we go. The secret of success, victory and unusual exploits that anointed servants of God achieve lie in the fact the God’s presence is always with them. Do you want to overcome great problems and challenges? Do you want to fulfil your divine destiny? You need the power of His presence. The essence of life is a focus of your attention on a God you cannot see. Yet fellowship with God has been His purpose in creating you, sending His Son, saving you, giving you the Bible and filling you with the Holy Spirit. The power of His presence is God’s path to greatness.

Let us Learn:-

I.  MOSES WAS GREAT BECAUSE OF THE POWER OF GOD’S PRESENCE (Exodus 33:13-15)

• Moses asked God to go on the Journey with Him.
• Moses did not ask for signs and wonders or miracles, money and fame.
• Moses asked God, that he may find grace, His presence with Him.
• Many Christians are completely ignorant of the presence of God.
• Having the presence of God with us is worth more than riches, power and fame.
• In the presence of God there is fullness of joy, but out of His presence, there is frustration, demons, discouragement, sorrow, fear, sickness, sin, suicide, depression etc.
• Do we have the presence of God or we have lost it? The presence of God gives us rest.

II.  DAVID YEARNED THE PRESENCE OF GOD (Psalm 51:11)

• “Cast me not away from thy presence, and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.”
• David is saying “Lord you can take anything else from me, but not your presence.”
• The secret of knowing the Lord is being in His presence.
• The closer you are to fire, the hotter you are.
• Woe to them that run away from God, when God vomits a person, the person’s enemies become very strong.

III.  CAIN WENT OUT FROM THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD (Genesis 4:13-16)

• It is the greatest punishment to be out of God’s presence.
• Hell will be hell because the presence of God is absent.
• Being struck dead by lightning is better than lacking the presence of God.
• Cain said to God “My punishment is greater than I can bear”
• Adam and Eve hid themselves from the presence of God amongst the trees of the garden.

IV.  JONAH WENT AWAY FROM THE PRESENCE OF GOD (Jonah 1)

• Later Jonah prayed for the presence of God.
• Isaiah, Jacob, Moses etc. encountered the presence of God in their lives and they were no longer the same.
• When you have God’s presence, no power of darkness can stand before you.

V.  HOW TO EXPERIENCE THE POWER OF HIS PRESENCE.

1. Do not joke with your quiet time.

• You must plan to have a Q.T. with the Lord regularly.
• You must want Him, wait for Him, wash in the blood and worship Him (WX4)

2. Do not neglect the fellowship of the saints

• Do not miss services.

3. Always hunger and thirst for God, be intimate with the Holy Spirit, Ask God to show you His way.
4. Surrender your life completely to the Lord.

CONCLUSION- PRAYER.

1. Every evil hand pointed at my destiny, wither by fire and die in the Name of Jesus.
2. My Father, show me your way in Jesus Name.
3. Thou power of signs, wonders and miracles, overshadow my life in the Name of Jesus Christ.
4. O Lion of Judah, roar into the camp of my enemies in the Name of Jesus.
5. I pull down every stronghold of poverty in my life, oh God arise and promote me into your powerhouse- In the Name of Jesus.
