SEEKING FOR DIVINE BREAKTHROUGH

SERIES: SPIRITUAL BREAKTHROUGHS

TEXT: 1 CHRONICLES 4:9-10.

 

The example of Jabez illustrates what it means to seek and receive a divine breakthrough and what to do in securing and maintaining the breakthroughs.

Jabez desired, pursued and prayed for divine through, and how he eventually got it.

  • Every step we take is either taking us closer to God or farther from our glorious destiny in Christ-Prov. 3:5-10.
  • Every decision we make is either to our advantage or disadvantage-Jer. 2:13-17.
  • Every step we take is either for our lifting or our downfall-Isa. 42:24-25.
  • Every move we make is either helping or hurting our destiny-Psalm 32:8-10.
  • This is because there is a way which seems right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death-Prov. 1412; 16:25.
  • A breakthrough is breaking through a barrier, which the psalmist calls “jumping over a wall.”
  • A breakthrough is when you penetrate your enemy’s defense.
  • A breakthrough is an anointed increase, which will make people wonder what is happening to you.
  • A breakthrough is when you are lifted above all the enemies around about you.
  • A breakthrough is a promotion enriched, betterment or positive headway. Let us learn:-

THE PRINCIPLES FOR DIVINE BREAKTHROUGH.

  • Divine breakthrough, prosperity and success come from applying the principles contained in the word of God.
  • Divine breakthrough has nothing to do with your location, background, education or achievements in life.
  • Divine breakthrough is not limited by the source of cause of your problem, size of your problem, duration or record of failures in your attempts to look for solutions.
  • Principles for divine breakthrough include:-
  • Living and walking in righteousness-Psalm 92:12.
  • The prayer of the righteous availeth much-James 5:16.
  • Having delight in the word of God.
  • Delight to study, to listen, to obey and to do, to teach others.
  • Joshua will succeed in his ministerial assignment by teaching and living in the word (of God-Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:1-3.
  • Commitment to prayer in the will of God.
  • Elijah prayed fervently for rain and received an answer because God promised to give the rain.
  • All prayer requests for Jabez were answered. He prayed according to the will of God.
  • Yielding to and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
  • Become a friend of the Holy Spirit.
  • Only the power of the Holy Spirit can bring about divine breakthrough in all areas of our lives.
  • The more the surrender, the more the faith, the more blessings-Phil. 2:1-2.

THE PRAYER FOR DIVINE BREAKTHROUGH.

  • The prayer of Jabez is a perfect model prayer for divine breakthrough for every believer.
  • He prayed that God should bless him indeed.
  • Any blessing that is not from God cannot last or may add sorrow to it.
  • Blessings is value addition, curse is value reduction.
  • Any door that is not opened by God will lead to eternal destruction.
  • The blessings Jacob stole from Esau could not move him into the purpose of God until Jacob had the real encounter with God Himself.
  • The blessings of God are both spiritual and physical.
  • He prayed that God should enlarge his territory.
  • God has plans, promises and prophesies for our enlargement in every area of our lives.
  • The first blessing on man is to be fruitful and multiply.
  • You may not grow, increase or be enlarged beyond what your vision can carry-2nd Kings 6:1-2.
  • He prayed that the hand of God will be with him.
  • This prevents the presence of God and the power of God- The anointing.
  • Moses refused to continue without the presence of God.
  • If you can maintain the presence and the power of God in your life, you will enjoy divine breakthroughs above your equals.
  • He prayed that God will keep him from evil.
  • We need divine protection and preservation to have and to enjoy divine breakthrough.
  • We are charged to be strong in the Lord and putting on His armor always- Eph. 6:10-12.

ENCOUNTERING THE POWER FOR DIVINE BREAKTHROUGH

  • After fulfilling the principles for divine breakthrough and after praying for it, only the power of the Holy Spirit can bring about breakthrough-Zach. 4:6; Luke 1:34-36.
  • The exploits of Saul and David were by the Holy Spirit-1st 10:6, 16.
  • Ministerial breakthroughs can only come by the power of the Holy Spirit-Acts 1:8; 10:38.
  • The place to begin from is to be baptized in the Holy Spirit after you are saved and converted-Acts 19:1-6.
  • You need to maintain a healthy relationship with the Holy Spirit to continually enjoy His filing and power.
  • Confess every sin, claim by faith through prayer the anointing which brings forth the breakthrough.

CONCLUSION

  • If you are seeking divine breakthrough in any area of your life, then you need to:-
  • Fulfill the principles of God for divine breakthrough.
  • Pray fervently for your breakthrough in line with the will of God.
  • Depend on the power of the Holy Spirit alone to bring about the desired breakthrough.
