STORM THE HEAVENS FOR YOUR BREAKTHROUGH

SERIES: SPIRITUAL BREAKTHROUGHS

TEXT: ISAIAH 64:1

 

“Oh that wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence.”

The above is actually a prayer request asking God to tear open the heavens and come down with His presence and every mountain will have no option but to melt and flow away. It talks about rendering the heavens.

Isaiah 62:6-7, “I have set watchmen upon thy walls, oh Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night; ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence. And give him no rest, till he establish and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”

One way and method of creating open heavens, it is by disturbing God. God enjoys holy disturbance. Let us learn:-

WHAT IS HOLY DISTURBANCE?

  • It is prayer.
  • The subject of prayer is deep and intense. Those who come to God in prayer are having holy disturbance in the courts of heaven.

There are three pillars that uphold Christians and make them stand in the earth:

  1. Holiness
  2. Word of God.
  3. Prayer
  • If you miss any of these pillars, you cannot stand as a Christian.
  • The devil can dance, sing, entertain, preach and counsel but the devil cannot pray.
  • Prayer is a privilege given to the child of God and not angels.
  • The Christian believer is most powerful on his knees.
  • People may reject your message despite your person but they are helpless when it gets to prayers.
  • When you spend time with God in prayer, it is most useful thing on earth.
  • The person who can really pray has nothing to fear.
  • It is prayer that converts God’s promises to performance.
  • The arm of God responds to violent prayer.
  • Jacob prayed violently and wrestled with the angel for seven hours-as Jacob wrestled with God. He was consistently saying “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”
  • The blind Bartimaeus cried out violently. It was prayer and he refused to keep quiet until Jesus Christ heard him and abandoned all others and asked for him to be brought forward. It was a holy disturbance.
  • The Bible does not say “preach without ceasing” but “prayer without ceasing”-1st 5:7; Eph. 6:18.
  • The prayers we pray are never wasted, they are eternal-Rev. 5:8. Prayers do not die.

OPEN HEAVENS.

  • It is important to understand this issue because it will make us obtain breakthrough for our lives.
  • Many things and situations will remain the same until you obtain breakthroughs.
  • Failure, poverty and lack will remain in many places until this breakthrough comes.
  • Since Adam fell into sin, the heavens became brass especially the second heaven which is the habitation of dark powers-Deut. 28:23.
  • When the heavens become brass to reach God becomes impossible for a person and angels of blessings will not come down to meet him.

EQUIPMENT FOR BLASTING THE HEAVENS OPEN.

  • Prayer and fasting.
  • Worship and praise.
  • Holiness.
  • Sacrificial giving.

WHY DO WE NEED BREAKTHROUGHS?

  • Breakthrough is necessary because many families have been oppressed by the strongman that have been attached to them for hundreds of years and their activities must be neutralized.
  • Many were born into covenants of failure and sickness.
  • Many are under terrible curses, spells evil dominion and evil control.
  • Many live in the cities but are being controlled from the rural villages through evil remote controlling powers-They are not free at all.
  • Many lives have been turned upside down and placed in the circle of vanity by household wickedness.
  • Many have many enemies and no friends.
  • David prayed for 21days for his heaven to open.
  • Job’s heaven opened at Luz (Bethel) that lonely night. He saw God and God’s ladder stretching from heaven to earth, angels were ascending and descending-Gen. 28:16.
  • Jesus Christ talked of open heaven in John 1:51; Matt. 3:13-17.
  • Stephen too saw heavens open-Acts 7:56.
  • When heavens open unto, power will descend.
  • Whatever you put for sale, will sell. Favor will bombard your way, your success will be guaranteed and your enemies will bow.
  • When heavens open unto you, you will write the obituary of your goliath. David told goliath “today I will give your head to the birds of the air”-1st 17:46.
  • When your heaven opens unto you, God begins to honor you and you will have divine approval, your marriage comes alive, stubborn family members become stubbornly born again.

PRAYERS THAT TEAR HEAVEN OPEN.

Prayers from a holy heart.

Prayers that take hold of God’s strength.

Prayers that have fire and power.

Prayers that turn the enemies against each other and their weapons against them.

  • The first step to storming the gates of heaven is submitting one’s life to Jesus Christ.
  • Decide to turn away from your sinful ways, repent of your sins and ask the Lord to come into your life and be Lord of your life.

CONCLUSION-pray:

  • I thank you God for making provision for my prosperity in the name of Jesus Christ.
  • Every mark of poverty in my life, be destroyed by the fire of God in the name of Jesus Christ.
  • I bind the strongman of poverty in my life in the name of Jesus Christ.
  • I remove my life from the cage of poverty in the name of Jesus Christ.
