HOW TO CONTROL THE WINDS OF LIFE

SERIES: DELIVERANCE

TEXT: SONGS OF SOLOMON 4:16; EZEKIEL 37:1-10

As children of god we are expected to exercise dominion over winds. When Jesus Christ rebuked the winds they obeyed. The Bible is specific about the names of each wind.

The wind of God blows to undo all the works of the devil. Your healing, your, deliverance, your miracle, your breakthrough is in the wind, you must let the wind blow.

The Bible has given us the symbol of the Holy Spirit and how He intracts with his people, fire, oil, water, dove, wind.

The fire is purifying, illuminating, searching. The oil is healing, comforting, consecrating. The water is cleansing and life giving. The dove is gentle, peaceful, comforting, guiding, warning.

The wind is the one that opened the Red Sea again. It was the wind that opened the way for their escape and the wind moved the waters to return and close upon and destroy their enemies.

It was the wind that dried up the floods from the earth after it had rained for 40 days and 40 nights. It was the wind that brought the plaque of locusts upon the Egyptians and it was the wind that took them away.

• The wind brought the quails to the complaining Israelites.
• The wind from the Lord that brought the rain hat ended a 3¹/₂ years drought in Israel.
• The wind brings change that is needed in your life, economy. Tonight may the wind of change come over your soul, blow over your life. When the wind of God blows it brings change, changing everything-Psalm 104:1-12.

Tonight, let us learn how to control the winds of life:-

POWER TO CONTROL THE WINDS OF LIFE.

• There are various winds in the earth.
• Each wind serves a specific purpose.
• Going through the Bible you will notice that each type of wind is called by its specific name.
• We also discover from the Bible that different winds play different roles.
• The Bible mentions four major winds:

1. The east wind.
2. The west wind.
3. South wind.
4. The north wind.

• There are also mentioned in the Bible the whirlwind, eurocyclon, storms, dry wind and the blast.
• We are as children of God given power and dominion over all these kinds of winds.
• This knowledge of winds of life will put us in a position to deal with wind related issues, both physically and spiritually as they affect our lives.
• Remember we (saved people) have been given power and authority, dominion and control over all that God has created.
• Joshua commanded the sun and the moon to stop in their courses above.
• Jesus Christ Himself commanded the winds over the Sea of Galilee to calm down and they did-Mark 4:39.
• Some problems we face in life, family, church, country are wind related.
• We need to know specific winds by their names and control them accordingly in the names of Jesus Christ.
• Remember everything has a spiritual ear, everything hears including non-living things like mountains and seas!!

THE WINDS OF LIFE.

1. East wind.

• The East wind is the most significant and by far the most mentioned in the Bible.
• It is mentioned 19 times, twice as many times as the other three winds-(Law of mention).
• The eastern wind or east wind is destructive wind or force in life.
• Whenever the east wind is mentioned in the Bible it is in connection with destruction and putting things into ruin.
• Psalm 48:7, “Thou breakest the ship of Tarshish with an east wind.”
• Jonah 4:8 speaks of a vehement east wind beating the head of Jonah and destroying the gourd God prepared as shade to protect him.
• Ezekiel speaks of an east wind drying up fruits and withering strong rods-destruction-Ezekiel 19:12.
• Following the east wind could bring trouble-Hosea 12:1.
• Ephraim followed the east wind and he suffered desolation-You and I can follow east wind people, suffering desolation in life.
• East wind can destroy a wise man-Job 15:2.
• East wind can make people move their places forever-Job 27:21. Those who fail to acknowledge God in the affair of their lives are moved from their places.
• Exodus 10:13 the east wind can be commanded like Moses did, to bring judgement-Gen. 41:6.
• East wind is a judgement of God over those who run away from God-Ezekiel 17:10.
• God uses the east wind to scatter people in calamity-Ezekiel 18:17.
• The east wind originates from the desert and it is strong to destroy. It destroyed the children of Job-Job 1.
• In summary the east wind has destructive capacities, it originates from the wilderness or desert. It is used by God to scatter and destroy.
• The east wind is not to be desired or followed.
• Evil people can programme the east wind against your destiny.

Pray, “I shall not follow the path of the east wind to destruction in Jesus name.”

2. West wind.

• This wind is mentioned only once in the Bible-Exodus 10:19.
• It was the west wind that took away the locusts brought by the east wind.
• The west wind reverses the destructive effects of the east wind.

Pray, “West wind of the Lord, arise and reverse the evil effects of the east wind in my life in the name of Jesus Christ.”

3. South wind-Job 37:17.

“How thy garments are warm, when He quieteth the earth by the south wind”

• Here the Bible talks about clothes being made warm after the south wind blows.
• Jesus Christ spoke about the south wind-Luke 12:55, “And when you see the south wind blow, ye say, there will be heat and it cometh to pass.”
• In Acts 27:13; Acts 28:13, it is the wind that gives directions. These sailors located their destination-Puteoli by the south wind.
• The south wind is gentle blowing wind.
• The south wind is used by God in relation with location and direction.

Pray, “O Lord let your south wind lead me to my divinely destined location. South wind blow across my life bringing comfort and warmth in the name of Jesus Christ.”

4. North wind.

• The north wind is mentioned only once in the Bible-Songs of Solomon 4:16.
• In Job 15:2, no one should desire the east wind.
• We really need the combination of the south and north winds.
• The north wind is constructive and desired.
• The north wind enhances capacities. We have capacities that are untapped.

Pray, North wind blow across the garden of my life in the name of Jesus Christ.

• The north wind is the wind that brings fortune and favor upon our lives.

OTHER WINDS

1. The tempest-Job 9:17; 27:20; Isaiah 54:11.

• The tempest is hurtful afflicting and undesirable kind of wind.

2. Blast-2^nd Samuel 22:16

• The blast is a judgement wind from God.
• The blast is a scaring wind against the enemies of God-Isaiah 37:7.

3. Storms-Luke 8:23.

• Storms are destructive winds in the sea of life-Mark 4:37.
• The storms can break the ship of destiny.
• Evil people have power to programme storms against destinies of people.

4. Whirlwind-Zachariah 7:14.

• The whirlwind is multipurpose. It can scatter and it can carry and rapture God’s people-2^nd Kings 2:11.
• The whirlwind can also be used of God against His enemies-Job 38:1; Jer. 30:23; 23:9.

5. Stormy winds-Ezekiel 13:13; 1^st Kings 19:11

CONCLUSION

• Cancel every evil programmed against your destiny.
• All kinds of misfortune are destroyed in Jesus name.
