HOW TO UNLOCK YOUR BLESSING

SERIES: WALKING IN THE F.O.G

TEXT: RUTH 2:2-19

 

Before Ruth would experience the breakthrough with Boaz, she asked for both grace and favor.

Today we want to look at the two keys that unlock seven blessings in life-Ruth 2:2; 2:10; 2:13; 2:19.

Grace is the unmerited, undeserved divine blessing that come from God to you. Favor is the unearned blessing given to you by men and women.

Grace comes from God and favor comes from people-Luke 6:38.

The heart is the source of all blessing but the flow of God’s blessings come through the hands of men.

Ruth was blessed by God (YHWH), so every time she turned around somebody was blessing her!!

The favor of God and the favor of people go together.

So grace and favor are linked together for the ones who love God.

In summary, grace is the unmerited, undeserved divine blessing that comes to you from God to you; favor is the unearned blessing given to you by men and women.

When the grace of God is upon you people will treat you better that you deserve, they regard you in higher standing than you have personally earned.

You and I can walk in God’s blessing and in people’s favor simultaneously.

Grace and favor brings seven blessings. Let us learn:-

FAVOR CAN STOP DEATH-Daniel 2:24.

  • Daniel got a word of interpretation about the king’s dream and saved the wise men in Babylon.
  • Queen Esther (Purim) delivered the Hebrews in Persia because she confronted the king, made intercession for her people and exposed a satanic plot against her Jewish kinsmen-Esther 5:2.
  • When Peter was about to get his head chopped off, the church prayed for Peter and 12 hours before he was scheduled to be beheaded, God spared his life from death-Acts 12:3; 7.
  • Grace and favor can disarm death; cancel terminal illness and expose satan’s plans.
  • God’s favor and grace works miracles for us. Expect God’s grace and favor of people wherever you go.

FAVOR CAN BRING GREAT FINANCIAL BLESSING-Gen. 30:27.

  • God will locate you at the right time with the right people who are favored with God to enter your life, bringing blessings into your life.
  • When Jacob went to work for his uncle Laban in Syria, financial blessing began to flow into Laban’s house.
  • Laban knew that the blessings and financial gain coming all because Jacob a Jew that was working for him-Gen. 30:27.
  • Jacob replied in Gen. 30:30, “You had little before I came, but now look!!”
  • God is the source of all blessing and He uses people as the means to get the blessing out.
  • The company you work for may grow and increase in profit because of your being connected to them.
  • Companies do well, facilities stay open because of the favor of God upon some of the saints who work there.

FAVOR CAN BRING A DOUBLE BLESSING-Job 42:10.

  • Job lost all of his possessions, property, fame and health except his nagging wife!!
  • Job stayed close to God in the battle. He saw the increase, he received double of what he lost.
  • Elisha found favor because he chose to stay with the prophet Elijah until the very end-2nd Kings 2:7-13.
  • Many of the sons of the prophets view Elijah from afar, Elisha followed Elijah until the very end-until God raptured Elijah in a chariot of fire.
  • A double blessing fell on Elisha, it was the favor of God.

FAVOR CAN SPEED UP YOUR DESTINY.

  • Have you ever waited for years to see the promises of God come to pass in your life?
  • His favor can come suddenly and pour every manner of blessing upon you.
  • Esther was a good woman, doing God’s will but when she stood before the king and saved her people, God’s favor started flowing speeding the destiny of God’s people.
  • Ruth was a widow woman, working in the corners of the field, then favor of God fell on her, she married a wealthy businessman and became famous in Bethlehem. One night of favor-opened her to an ocean of favor.
  • Life can change in a minute for better or for worse.
  • Joseph went from the pit to a prison, to a palace because he found favor.
  • Billy Graham was made popular by Los Angeles Times.
  • Oral Roberts was made famous evangelist by Oklahoma newspaper.
  • The favor of God can turn a curse into a blessing and speed-up your destiny.

FAVOR CAN CAUSE THE IMPOSSIBLE TO HAPPEN.

  • When you walk in God’s favor the impossible become possible to you.
  • God set you up with the right people at the right time. Other times ability and opportunity come together for you.
  • What God has done for others, He will do for you.

FAVOR COMES THROUGH PRAYER.

  • Just because you are born-again does not guarantee favor.
  • You must pray for the grace of God and favor with people.
  • Even, pastors must pray for favor with the congregation, to love you, accept your message.
  • Before you make major decisions, speak, attend business meetings-ask for favor.
  • God may move someone out of your path before the meeting and place the right person in your path-because of favor.

FAVOR DOES NOT EXEMPT YOU FROM TROUBLE.

  • Sometimes even with favor, we will experience trouble, heartache and loses.
  • The reason you know you are favored is not because you are exempt from trouble, but because you keep on making it through the storms of life!!
  • Even when God’s favor and grace is upon you, people will slander you, call you names, gossip about you, but keep on walking in F.O.G.
  • Keep running the race, favor is not a ticket of exemption from physical and spiritual attacks.
  • Always be ready to trust God and move forward to where you need to be.
  • Favor is very important in our lives, because it is the engineer to every great future. Favor is the master key to a world of fulfilment. Favor repositions people. God determines the placement of everyone by His favor-Psalm 30:5-7.
  • The favor of God is what determines the limits of every person’s destiny. Once you are favored-you are made-that is the story of Ruth.
  • Favor is what converts labor into fortune. Your destiny is defined by the favor operating in your life.
  • Your destiny is favor limited, so the more favor you enjoy the more glorious your destiny. Everybody is limited by the level of favor he/she enjoys.
  • No matter who is against you, God’s favor is to thrust you to your destiny-Job 10:12.
  • God’s favor causes you to be promoted though you are not qualified. God’s favor gives you blessing even though you don’t deserve it.
  • God’s favor heals you in spite of your condition.

CONCLUSION

  • Favor protects you, favor serves as a shield-Psalm 5:12.
  • Favor places the wealth of the wicked at your disposal, it transfers resources to you.
  • We need the favor of God now-Exodus 12:36.
