LET US MEET THE ANTI-CHRIST

SERIES: THE SCHOOL OF PROPHECY.

TEXT: DANIEL 8:23-27.

 

As we continue to study the book of Revelation, we have encountered some terrifying scenes and some wonderful characters. In the next few weeks our attention is focused on an individual known as the Anti-Christ. About 45 billion people have lived on this world since the creation of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden.

The world has witnessed many kinds of people. Some have been talented, intelligent and powerful people. But there is coming a man who will stand above the rest of humanity. This man will be intelligent, powerful, deceitful, brutal, ruthless and efficient.

This man will represent all that man can do without God.

This man will be demonically, satanically, empowered, he will wreak havoc in this world.

This man has several names including-

  • The son of perdition.
  • The man of sin-2nd Thess. 2:3.
  • The beast-Rev. 13.
  • That wicked-2nd Thess. 2:8
  • The Anti-Christ-1st John 2:18.

This man will dominate the entire world very soon. Let us meet the Anti-Christ.

THE ADVENT OF THE ANTI-CHRIST-Dan. 8:23.

  • He is coming at the end times or latter period.
  • Can we know when this end time is? The answer is “Yes” and “No.”
  • No one for sure knows exactly who the Anti- Christ is or exactly when that will appear, but the Bible tells us that there are certain signs that accompany his appearance.

The condition of the world:

  • The world will be in a terrible moral condition-Luke 17:26-27; 2nd 3:1-5.
  • When you look at what is happening now in this world morally, the world is ready for the Anti-Christ.

The corruption of religion-2nd 2:3.

  • There will be a religious apostasy or a “falling away.”
  • A time when organized, visible religion will depart from the doctrines of the word of God.
  • This “falling away” will occur in churches, denominations and para-church organizations that call themselves Christians.
  • Today, many so called churches and denominations have departed from the foundational truths of Christianity.
  • There was a time when every church and denomination had standard statement of faith.
  • They believed in the virgin birth of Christ, the substitutionary death and the resurrection of Christ, the bodily return of Christ and the Bible as the inspired word of God.
  • A Christian was a man or woman who had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and accepted all that the Bible teaches concerning Him and His work. It is a different world today.
  • Today many denominations are taking a vote whether to marry homo sexual and lesbians.
  • Today they vote if to ordain homosexuals. We are in the middle of apostasy.
  • The world, religion and the church are ready for the Anti-Christ.
  • There is only one event that prevents the anti-Christ from appearing.

The completion of the church-2nd 2:6-7.

  • The Bible says the church must be removed before the great tribulation and the anti-Christ is revealed.
  • 6 there is something that “withholdeth.”
  • 7 there is one who “letteth.”
  • These two words mean the same in the Greek they both mean “to hinder.”
  • 7 tells us that the spirit of the anti-Christ is already at work in the world.
  • Today, we can see the evidence of the anti-Christ everywhere.
  • There are two hindrances that prevent the anti-Christ from appearing.
  1. The church.
  2. The Holy Spirit-John 16:8-11.
  • At the rapture of the church both the Holy Spirit and the true church of Christ will be removed.
  • The purpose of the great tribulation is not for the church!! The great tribulation is called “The time of Jacob’s trouble”-Jer. 30:7.
  • Daniel was told by God that the great tribulation it was a time for Israel-Daniel 9:27.
  • The great tribulation is also called “The time of God’s wrath”-Rev. 6:16-17; 16:1.
  • The church or the true children of God have been saved from the wrath of God through Jesus Christ-Romans 5:9.
  • Jesus told the church in Philadelphia that it will be spared the great tribulation-Rev. 3:10.
  • The church will leave this world before the seven years of great tribulation.

THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ANTI CHRIST-Daniel 8:23.

He will be a man of popularity-Rev. 6:2.

  • This man will be “given a crown.”
  • The people of the world will receive the anti-Christ as god send.
  • He will have a workable formula for world peace.
  • He will have a viable reason for the absence of the church in the world.
  • He will embrace all the qualities the world has ever looked for in a leader.
  • The anti-Christ will possess:-
  1. Leadership style and qualities like Washington Lincold or Churchill.
  2. Eloquence of Franklin Roosevelt or Obama.
  3. The charisma of a John F. Kennedy or Mao.
  4. The charm of Theodore Roosevelt or Clinton.
  5. The popularity of Dwight Eisenhower or Ronald Reagan.
  6. Political savvy of a Lydon Johnson or Aither.
  7. The intellect of Thomas Jefferson.
  • The world is ready for such a man to come.

He will be a man of peace-Rev. 6:2.

  • The Bible tells us he will be riding on a white house (white=peace).
  • He will have the appearance of good.
  • He will have a bow, but without arrows.
  • He will not come making war but peace.
  • Daniel 9:27 He will make a seven (7) years peace treaty with the nation of Israel.
  • The world is currently tired of war, economies are collapsing, people want prosperity now, they want peace and safety.
  • However, the world will never know peace apart from Jesus Christ-The Prince of Peace.
  • The children of God have peace in their hearts now-John 14:27.

He will be a man of prosperity-Daniel 11:43; Rev. 13:16-17.

  • The anti-Christ will eventually control the wealth of the entire world.
  • He will bring prosperity and riches to people who have lived in poverty all the days of their lives!!
  • He will finish class-status groups. He will equalize people through abolishment of poverty.
  • People will finally have food on their tables and money in their pockets!!
  • People love to prosper, anyone who promises prosperity and money will be very popular man.

He will be a man of power-Rev. 13:7-8.

  • The anti-Christ will eventually rule the whole world.
  • Many lofty men have wanted to be this man throughout history, but they have failed.
  • The anti-Christ will achieve it.
  • People will not care this man is a Satanist and full of demons-Dan. 8:24.
  • People of the world will actually worship the anti-Christ as their god!!
  • This will be true in the first 3 and half years of his rule at the middle of his rule he will turn out to be something different.

THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE ANTI-CHRIST-Daniel 8:24-25.

He will attack the people of God-Dan. 7:25.

  • He will break the peace treaty with Israel.
  • He will try to do what others have done with the Jews-exterminate them (Hitler, Stalin).
  • He will hate anything that has to do with God and Jesus Christ.
  • Today the spirit against Israel (anti-Semitism) is already there today.

He will attack the Prince of God-Daniel 8:25.

  • This man (the anti-Christ) will stand against the prince of princes.
  • The prince of princes is Jesus Christ.
  • He will make every effort to stamp out the name of Jesus Christ.

He will attack the place of God-Dan. 8:25; 11:36-37; 9:27; 2nd Thess. 2:4; Matt. 24:15.

  • He will break the peace treaty with Israel.
  • He will attempt to wipe the Jews from the map. He enter the newly built temple in Jerusalem and demand to be worshipped.
  • He will declare Himself to be God. Later he will desecrate their temple.

THE ANNIHILATION OF THE ANTI-CHRIST Vs. 25.

The end of the anti-Christ will be sudden.

  • He will be “broken without hand.”
  • He will be defeated but not by man but by God Himself.
  • This will be a supernatural defeat-Rev. 19:20.

His end will be serious-Rev. 19:20.

  • The anti-Christ will enter into the lake of fire alive!!
  • 1,000 years later, satan himself will be judged and condemned to the lake of fire.
  • Satan will find the beast, anti-Christ in the lake of fire-Rev. 20:10.

CONCLUSION

  • Jesus Christ is coming and the world is poised to enter a time of trouble like never before.
  • What will happen to you will depend on what you have done with Jesus Christ?
  • Today, give your life to Christ, receive the salvation He only can give to you.
  • Point men and women to Jesus Christ.
  • Do not fear the anti-Christ, if you are born again you will not be on earth!!
  • Where will you be when satan’s superman takes the world by storm?
  • The Lord is calling you today please come.
