NEW YEAR'S EVE

STEPS TO HAVING A GREAT YEAR- 2025

TEXT: PROVERBS 17:24

“Wisdom is before him that has understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.” Having a successful year 2025 is as simple as A.B.C.D.E.

A-Accept responsibility.

B-Believe you can change.

C-Classify your priorities.

D-Don’t wait to begin.

E-Effective decree your future.

“An intelligent person aims at wise actions, but a fool starts off in many directions”-Prov. 17:24.

  • This coming year we are either going to do one or two things:
  1. We can waste the year away by regretting the things we failed to do in 2024.
  2. We can also decide to make the most of this coming year 2025.

So what are you planning to do with your 2025? How will it be different from 2024? There is nothing you can do to change the last year. But you can change the coming year.

In 2025, God is giving each one of us a blank state, a new page to start over.

But the Bible is telling us that there are two kinds of people who are going to face 2025-

  1. An intelligent (wise) person is going to aim at wise actions.
  2. The fool is going to start 2025 in many directions-Prov. 17:24.
  • An intelligent person is a wise person he/she has a goal, an aim, a target, an objective.
  • What is your goal for 2025?
  • The fool though will start 2025, in many directions is that going to be you? Really?
  • Are you going to walk into 2025 singing “Happy New year” hoping it is going to be better?
  • You got to have a plan.
  • Tonight let us look at five steps that will help you to succeed in 2025. It’s as simple as A.B.C.D.E.

A-ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LIFE.

Don’t excuse yourself.

  • If you want a new fresh start in life, stop making excuses for your failures.
  • Stop blaming other people.
  • Stop seeking yourself as a victim of circumstances.
  • Stop using “political corrections” that says “none of your problems are your fault.”
  • Stop blaming people, environment, the education system, blaming your parents and relatives, church, the pastor or even the government.
  • Accept responsibility-Prov. 28:13, “A man who refuses to admit his mistakes can never be successful. But if he confesses and forsakes them he gets another chance.”
  • God is saying to you and me, “If we admit our mistakes and our sins of 2024 and confess them, we will get another change in life.”

You are not a failure until you give up.

  • If you at first don’t succeed, welcome to the human race, you are very normal. It is normal to fail.
  • Very few people succeed the first time they try.
  • You only fail if you give up.
  • People who make excuses are rarely good in anything else.
  • Accept responsibility for your life, don’t blame anybody.

B-BELIEVE YOU CAN CHANGE.

Satan wants you to doubt that you can change. Phil. 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

  • We all have secret fears of what people think of failure.

God says, “You can do all things.”

  • When God calls, He qualifies.
  • He qualified Gideon, Moses, Jeremiah.
  • 2nd Cor. 5:17, “If anyone be in Christ, he is a new creature, behold old things are passed away and behold all things are made new.”

C-CLARIFY YOUR PRIORITIES.

Set godly priorities.

  • You must decide what is important.
  • Many people on their death beds confess:
  1. I wish I had a relationship with God.
  2. I wish I spent more time with my loved ones.
  3. I wish I attended church more.
  4. I wish I spend more time with my children.
  • No one says “I wish I spend more time at work or building my career or spent more time with friends.

Make an action plan.

  • Make a resolution.
  • Don’t be sidetracked by failure.
  • If you really plan your life well, there are people you will never meet, places you will never go and diseases you will never contract.

D-DON’T WAIT TO BEGIN.

Don’t procrastinate-never bury your head in the sand like the ostrich.

  • In Acts 24:25, the governor Felix said to apostle Paul, “Go your way for now, when I have a convenient time I will call you.”
  • He never called, he died in sin.
  • Ecclesiastes 11:4, “If you wait for perfect conditions you will never get anything done.”

Stepping out requires faith.

  • This new year some of you will have to launch out into new territories by faith-Zechariah 4:6.

E-EFFECTIVELY DECREE YOUR FUTURE-Job 22:28.

“Thou shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee, and the light shall shine upon thy way.”

Proverbs 18:20-21, “A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

  • So many times the words of death are spoken into our lives, over our lives and about over lives without any realization of the power and consequences they possess.
  • An old saying says, “stick and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.”
  • That is a lie. The Bible says “Thy power of the tongue is terrible.” It breaks destinies.
  • When you speak you either life or death to your life and to the life of others.
  • A decree is an order, a law, a command, an authority. Once a decree is done it cannot be changed until the one who made it died!!
  • When the king made a decree it was final.
  • You can decree a thing by faith in Jesus name and it happens.
  • Jesus Christ decreed a thing and it happened.
  • Tonight decree:-
  • I decree deliverance upon my life in Jesus name.
  • I decree souls will be saved here.
  • I decree habits will be broken here.
  • I decree broken hearts will be mended here.
  • I decree families will be put together here.
  • I decree financial breakthrough will be done here.
  • I decree jobs will be given here.
  • I decree you will never be the same.
  • I decree the devil is defeated.
  • I decree past lifestyles are changed.
  • I decree prosperity, riches and wealth.
  • I decree we shall live and not die.
  • I decree that kingdom of God will grow and the church will be added.
  • I decree joy unspeakable and full of glory.
  • I decree the year 2025 will be a year of no fear, but blessings overflowing.
  • I decree that closed doors will be open.

Decree a thing upon your life now-In the Name of Jesus Christ.
