WAITING ON GOD FOR POWER

ISAIAH 40:28-31

INTRODUCTION

There are three kinds of power. Positive power, negative power and neutral power. God’s power is a positive power. Devils power is negative power (contrary wind) Man power is neutral whereby man can either plug on to God or to the devil. Our real need is power. His Almighty fullness is available to those who wait on God. The need is power, “He giveth power to the faint” without God’s power we faint and have “No might” and are “Weary” and the “young men utterly fall”. There is today much fainting and weariness- because of the inability to overcome current evils. Even “young men” destitute of this power are on other failures. The source of power is “the everlasting God” (v.28). the power of God is needed (Acts 1:8). The condition for power “They that wait upon the Lord” (V.3) waiting on God is an honest confession that there has been fainting and failure in the past. The promise is to the “Faint” and not the mighty” (2 Cor.12:9, Heb.11:34). The evidence of power “they shall mount up, run, walk and fly”. He giveth power to the faint.
