WITHOUT STRENGTH BEFORE A PURSUING ENEMY

LAMENTATIONS 1:1-6

INTRODUCTION

Have you ever dreamed being pursued by a giant, a gang, an animal, imagine how powerless you were!! How did it turn out? What a tragic lamentation. The runner is in a lot of trouble because he is being pursued but has no strength. Someone that is pursued cannot relax, if he has no strength then he is already a prey and a causality. When a person has no strength before a pursuer, it means he or she is running in vain. This is the situation with many people. They have so many enemies from their mother’s houses, father’s houses, their in-laws, place of work, college, school, church, many enemies pursuing but no strength.

Are you being pursued by anger, bitterness, lust, fear, evil dreams, familiar spirits, witches, bad luck, poverty, backsliding, worldliness, immorality, a former girl or boyfriends, unseriousness with God, drunkenness and ungodly habits? Are things that were never close to you now dominating your life? Are old sicknesses coming back to your life? There is a spiritual law that says “if you go back to your old sins, your old problems will come back”. Jesus Christ said to the man by the pool of Bethesda “Sin no more lest a worse thing come upon you” so old sin-old problem.

As a Christian, you ought to be the pursuer and not the pursued. This generation of Christians is very powerless. We need the power to overcome and to contend with, pursue and subdue the powers of darkness. Today men and women are going deeper and deeper into the occult to receive power, fame, wealth and pleasure. Unless we rise to contend with their power, there is a big problem. “When a greater power comes across a lesser power, the lesser power must bow”. If you are without strength before a strong pursuer then there is trouble.

Let us learn:-

I.  HOW TO PURSUE THE PERSUER

  • There is only one key to pursue the pursuer.
  • Psalm 51:17- “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit and a contrite heart”
  • God will not reject the cry of those who have a broken spirit and a contrite heart.
  • God despises some people “They will call upon Me but I will not answer” (Prov.1:28)
  • Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is near unto them that are of a broken heart, and sees such as be of a contrite spirit”
  • “Be strong in the Lord; (Eph.6:10) the enemy is strong.
  • When the enemy sees you with the Lord, the enemy will flee away.
  • When God is close to you, witches, familiar spirits, household wickedness, and spirit spouses will flee away.

II.   WHAT IS BROKENNESS

  • Brokenness is the taming of the soul.
  • When the soul is not tamed, we talk carelessly, we get angry and fight, and we curse people with acidic tongues.
  • Brokenness is giving the Holy Spirit room to operate in your life.
  • Brokenness is complete submission and obedience to God.
  • Brokenness is death to self and Christ living supreme in us.
  • Brokenness is inner transformation by God, allowing God to make you what He wants you to be.
  • A broken person does not anger quickly but is sober in the heart.

III.  FACTS ABOUT SPIRITUAL WARFARE

  1. You must deal with the devil and his cohorts in Jesus Name.
  2. You must take control of your mind– you must establish a solid immigration control at the door of your mind.
  • Anyone or anything without appropriate documents is sent back to the sender or deported.
  1. You must crucify the flesh– if you are dead you cannot deal.
  • When we live a life of brokenness, no weapon formed against us can prosper.
  • When you live a broken life no witch or wizard can eat your flesh.
  • When you are broken, you become immune to satanic arrows, thorns and wiles.
  • When you are broken you will permanently trample upon serpents and scorpions, you will not corporate with the devil.
  • If you live in sin, you are without strength before your pursuer.

IV.  SIGNS OF UNBROKENNESS.

  1. Stubborn, unteachable and close-mindedness.
  2. Bad behavior does not prick the conscience anymore.
  3. Lack of godly sorrow for the sins you commit.
  4. Insensitivity to own spiritual weakness.
  5. Hard heart, hypocrisy and keeping friends who are not godly, the kind of status in your internet accounts, the kind of things you post.

V.  WHAT DOES THE LORD WANT YOU TO DO

  • There are many unbroken pastors, unbroken ushers, unbroken choir singers, unbroken workers
  • Samson was a child of promise- He lost all- He was not broken.
  • Cry to heaven to deliver you from unbrokenness so that you will fulfil your divine destiny.

CONCLUSION; PRAYER

  1. O Lord break me in Jesus Name
  2. Thou power of failure at the edge of success, your time is up, die in the Name of Jesus.
  3. Thou strong man pursuing my life, die now in Jesus Name.
  4. All round success, pursue me and locate me, in Jesus Name.
