DIVINE EXPANSION

ISAIAH 54:1-17

INTRODUCTION

This passage of the scripture teaches us how to receive Divine expansion in all areas of our life. God wants to see your life moving forward. He has a plan to bless you in all areas of your life. Only God can revive us and bring us again to a place of power and prosperity. I want to release a word of encouragement to you, I want to announce that a shift is taking place, you are entering into a new season just like the wind can shift directions. Things are shifting in your favour. As I look at the church I see some of you are at the same level year after year. You think you have reached your limits and you exist on a continuous plateau. God says “I am going to do a new thing” God will open doors that are closed. The spirit of delay must break now for your breakthrough to the next level in Jesus Name.

How to receive God’s expansion– Let us learn:-

I.  UNDERSTAND YOUR PRESENT (Isaiah 54:1)

  • Remember, God delivered Israel from the iron hand of Pharaoh.
  • He miraculously divided the Red Sea and brought them through the wilderness into the Promised Land.
  • But Israel was not faithful to God, they asked for a King.
  • The kings led them to idolatry. They lived compromised lives. They sinned against God. (2 Kings 17:7-8)
  • Look at Israel’s present condition.
  1. Israel was now suffering in exile in Babylon

Isaiah 54 Explain this condition:

  1. Barrenness (54:1)barren woman
  2. Fear, shame, disgrace, humiliation, reproach (Isaiah 54:4)
  3. Deserted- distress, Rejected (54:6)
  4. Abandoned- (54:7) Do you feel abandoned?
  5. Afflicted, lashed, storms, not comforted (54:11)
  • Sin took Israel into the pit of ruin
  • They were fruitless, no growth regardless of effort.
  • Their life was one of hopelessness, fruitlessness, and barren.
  • Have you neglected God, church attendance, messed up in your family and marriage or personal life or ministry?
  • Maybe your dreams are shuttered, health struggles, career or business, your peace was scattered, you feel humiliated.
  • See the good news;
  1. Barrenness is not a permanent condition- God will break it
  2. Fear- do not be afraid- you will not suffer shame, disgrace, humiliation etc.

II.  UNDERSTAND GOD’S PROMISE-DIVINE EXPANSION (54:2-3)

  • Barren women are usually considered fruitless and failure.
  • But now a new season is coming your way.
  • Ignore what people have called you.
  • You whose life was a laughing stock, be glad.
  • You whose hopes were dead, dreams darkened, eyes swollen with tears, rejoice, burst into songs of praise and thanksgiving.
  • God wants to prosper you now.
  • Remember Jabez prayed to the God of Israel.
  1. Oh that you bless me indeed
  2. Enlarge my territory.
  3. Let your hand be with me.
  4. Keep me from harm so that I will be free from and causing pain. God answered Jabez (I Chron.4:9-10)

III.  HOW TO RECEIVE DIVINE EXPANSION

  1. Repent (Isa.1:8, Acts 8:22-23, I John 1:9)
  2. Believe (Isah.54:1) Singing is a sign of faith.
  • Your breakthrough is now.
  • The days of failure, disgrace and frustration are over- the days of rejoicing are here, receive them by faith.
  1. Stretch (Isah.54:2)
  • You must enlarge your capacity and it takes work.
  • Be ready for change- Noah had to cut wood and build the ark, Abraham had to leave home, Joseph had to tax the people to prepare for the famine years. Jesus Christ gave His life.
  • Change your perspective, “You cannot put new wine in old wineskins”
  • Renew your commitment to God and enlarge your capacity for God.
  • In II Kings 4:1-7- “Borrow not a few, get as many as possible” V.3
  • The poor widow is the one who determined how much oil she would have.
  • Remember the principle in Matt.6:33-our priority must be God- then all other things.
  • Expand your capacity for God- prayer, devotion, Holiness, tithing, commitment to church and ministry.

IV.  RESULTS OF DIVINE EXPANSION

  1. Days of joy and prosperity (54:1)
  2. God will restore us (54:6) what the devil has taken.
  3. God will protect us (54:17) No weapon will prevail.

CONCLUSION

  • Those who think you are barren will be surprised
  • Disgrace, dishonour, disrespect, sorrow, fear are gone away.
  • God will multiply you 1000 fold- In Jesus name.
  • Expand the parking area- Destroy the yoke of delay.
