SERIES: MY GOD MY DELIVERER
TEXT: LUKE 24:44
“Then he said to them” when I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me by Moses and the prophets, and in the Psalms must all come true”
- Destiny is very precious. It is the reason for living (Luke 24:44)
- Without fulfilling your destiny, you are a failure, without it you are here in vain.
- Many people are potential stars.
- Many people in the scripture died without fulfilling their destiny.
I. CAUSES OF ACCIDENTS IN DESTINY
- Disobedience – The prophet in (I Kings 13)
- Eden was a garden of life, but Adam was deceived and lost his eternal heritage.
- Adams’ destiny was derailed because of sin
- Covetousness – Gehazi ran after Naaman and the leprosy of Naaman cleaved unto him.
- Gehazi’s destiny was destroyed on the platform of materials
- Gehazi could have gotten a fantastic ministry like his leader and mentor Elisha, but Gehazi died a leper.
- Anger and words (Psalm 106:32-33, Numbers 20:7-12)
- At Meribah they angered the Lord.
- They caused Moses trouble, they made him angry.
- Moses spoke foolishly and could not enter the promised land.
- Moses destiny was short circuited.
- Adultery – Samson was a great man and a deliverer of the people. His problem was women (Judges 16:1-4)
- If you are neck deep in lust you may never make it to your destiny.
- Unequal yoke – getting married to the wrong person (2 Chro. 18:18-33)
- Satanic affliction (Luke 22:1-6, Job 2:9) – Job’s wife
II. HOW TO AVOID ACCIDENTS IN DESTINY
- Jesus Christ the good shepherd for your soul and He will shepherd you.
- Watchfulness – watch your heart against anger, prick and hypocrisy.
- Your destiny is precious – don’t destroy yourself.
- Come to Jesus and decide in your heart to walk with Him.
