MY LORD IS MY DELIVERER

II SAMUEL 6:14-23

Michal had an issue, a syndrome that destroyed her life completely. Despite the fact that Michal was the daughter of King Saul, the first King of Israel she had an issue and an attitude that arrested her spiritual development. A syndrome is a combination of signs and symptoms that occur together and characterize a particular abnormality. In Michal’s life, a combination of issues she had suffered at young age produced a syndrome that complicated her life until death. Curses and witchcraft combine to cause abnormalities and syndromes in life. Only the living God can uncomplicated our lives if we allow Him to deliver us for my God is my deliverer. Michal despised king David in her heart. No wonder Michal is more identified not as David’s wife but as daughter of Saul. Michal shared Saul’s lack of spiritual understanding. She should have been rejoicing with David in worship to God, but she close to stay at home and to watch through the window.

Michal’s sarcastic comment, “How the King of Israel honored himself today” suggests contempt  for David rather than a statement of fact.

Because of her contempt for the King and husband, Michal suffered a curse of barrenness for she had no children of her own until death. It was God’s judgement of Michal for her contempt towards David or the natural results of the rift between Michal and David or their families. Many marriages and families suffer curses because the husband despises the wife or the wife despises her husband. Issues of dishonor and lack of love in marriage and family combine to form a syndrome that destroys lives and generations.

Let us take these deliverance prayers, as we look further into this message.

  • By the blood of Jesus, I overcome the spirit of Michal delaying my success.
  • Every hand of Jezebel threatening my destiny be cut off now in Jesus Name
  • Every quicksand of pride drowning my life progress, dry up now in Jesus Name.
  • Every evil wind projecting dryness into my life, business finance and church be swallowed by the whirlwind of God.
  • By the earthquake of the Holy Spirit, I uproot every tree of barrenness in my life in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Let us learn: –

  1. WHAT IS THE MICHAL ISSUE OR SYDROME?
  • Michal was the daughter of King Saul; King Saul betrothed Michal to David, but gave her to man called Palties.
  • “Saul had given Michael his daughter, David’s wife to Paltiel the son of Laish, who was of Gallim” (1st Samuel 25:44).
  • Michal’s father promised and betrothed her to one man but gave her to another.
  • “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalms 11:3)
  • The first thing Michal had to contend with was the issue of the foundation of her marriage.
  • The marriage with David was already set up on the foundation of his wife having been given to another man, who must have had carnal knowledge of her.
  • You notice that sex is a very powerful thing in that it makes a man and a woman become one flesh.
  • The more men, the more women you sleep with the more you are joined to, the more sex partners the more you become one flesh with them.
  • Sex brings manner of issues into our lives, their demons and spirits become yours.
  • Sex complicates lives into syndromes that is why people are so complicated, because they are combination and complexes.
  • This setup the issues in Michal’s life and she felt about marriage and by extension her husband’s value.
  • Michal did not hold much value to both institutions of marriage and husband hood.
  • Michal saw the king David not in kingly robes but only with priestly ephod.
  • A lot of things welled up in Michal’s life instead of seeing herself as the beautiful honored wife of a great man of God, a man after God’s heart, a very privileged position, she saw herself as the daughter of a deposed and disgraced king Saul.
  • People with unresolved life issues cannot see their blessings.
  • Michal was jealous and envious.
  • Michal had no respect for her husband; she came out of the palace to insult him in front of everybody.
  • Michal had become over familiar with the man of God, the king of Israel, to the extent that her familiarity became contempt of her own husband.
  • Familiarity had caused her to see him as an ordinary man with no honor or admiration.
  • This was the man, the king of Israel, the man everything for miles around revered.
  • The greatest need for everyman is to be respected especially by wife.
  • Men would rather be respected than loved, they can make love, they cannot make respect.
  • Michal had a proud spirit, which could not take a backseat in the palace house of her husband.
  • Familiarity breeds contempt in Isaiah 53:2. “For he grew up before him like a young plant and like a root out of dry ground, he had no form or majesty that we should desire him”
  • This spirit of pride that enveloped and controlled Michal, succeeded in making her the recipient of a curse from God, this is cursed manifested in her inability to give birth to children.
  • The Michal issue and syndrome is the reason why many people are experiencing spiritual barrenness.
  • Simply put, familiarity with the symbols of God will attract a course.
  1. THE SYMBOLS OF GOD
  2. The word of God; do not despise the word of God, the Bible and the preaching of the word.
  3. The miracles of God: Never testifying to His miracles nor being thankful.
  • Every day you wake up alive is a miracle of God! Be thankful for the miracle of life.
  • Never take God and His miracles for granted
  1. God’s Anointing: Anointing is God’s power and authority over your life and the life of others do not despise God’s anointing through unbelief (Mark 6:1-5)
  2. God’s servant: When you see the physical or spiritual weakness of men of God and you start disrespecting their anointing, you attract a curse from God. This happened to Moses and Elijah the servants of God.
  3. God’s instructions (2nd chronicles 20:20)

“And they rose early in the morning and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa, and when they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God and you will be established, believe in His prophets and you will succeed”.

  1. God’s attars – some desecrate His attars with business, stealing ministry money, strife and fighting, stealing things dedicated to the work of God or Misuse is a curse (Mark 11:15-18)
  • Familiarity is getting so close or used to a person, object, or subject that it loses its specialness, its awe, its appeal.
  • Familiarity with the word of God is one of the greatest problems causing barrenness in people’s live (Isaiah 55:11).
  • We overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and by the words of our testimony (Revelation 12:11)
  • Testifying is acceding to the sovereignty of the word of God.
  • When the word of God either by prophecy or by the written words brings a desired outcome, sharing that testimony reinforces power that ensured that victory on the cross and opens even more locked doors.
  • Unfortunately, today many children of God hide their testimony so that the church won’t know the status of their finances or their advancement in society or so that the pastors won’t single them out for special pledges!
  • Others know that pastor’s weaknesses and His family secrets, so that makes them think they are equal or better than Him.
  • If you get too familiar with the man of God, you cannot get any authority from Him.
  1. POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE
  • Once the potential difference between people is removed, nothing can flow against you from the other person.
  • For example, the anointing on a man of God is without repentance. In 2nd Kings13:20-21. After prophet, Elisha was sick and even dead; His body remains were still heavenly anointed and working miracles raising the dead.
  • Over familiarity with your husband can bring contempt to an extent that the institute of husband hood does not bless the wife because the potential difference is removed.
  • Over familiarity with your wife can bring contempt to the extent that her woman hood and wife hood does not bless the husband.
  • Even if your husband cannot provide for the family, remember the special position they hold in authority in your life.
  • The potential difference between you and your pastor, employer, president must be respected otherwise their office can’t bless your life.
  1. SOLUTION AND DELIVERENCE
  • Assess your level of familiarity with God and His symbols of godship.
  • If you are too familiar back off immediately so that His anointing can come for you
  • Assess your level of familiarity with your husband, wife, pastor, parents etc, put the potential difference, let it work for you, let the anointing of their office work and bless you.

PRAYER FOR YOU

  • Every spirit of familiarity and contempt withholding my helpers, be cast down now in the Name of Jesus Christ.
  • By the blood of Jesus, I receive the anointing of humility.
  • I refuse and denounce the spirit and Michal syndrome in my life in Jesus Name.
  • The mystery of power that worked for Sarah, Hannah and Elizabeth work for me now in Jesus Name.
