RECOVERING STOLEN IDENTITY AND MISPLACED DESTINY.

FAITH IS THE VICTORY

2 KINGS 5:1-8

God’s destiny for your life will always be consistent with the way God wired you. We are uniquely wired by God through our unique experiences, passion, abilities and spiritual gifts. In this life you need destiny helpers, people who can enhance your life to reach your destiny. Destiny helpers may be good or bad people but God uses them to enhance you towards your destiny. The story of Naaman in the Bible is a story of Faith Victory. Destiny can be stolen, misplaced, exchanged or destroyed all together. Esau, Isaac, David, Adam, Eve, Moses, Elijah, Abraham had their destinies either stolen or misplaced. Let us learn:-

  1. IDENTITY THEFT IN THE REAL WORLD.
  • Identity thefts leading to undue suffering are real problems in the society and church.
  • Identity theft through deceit and unauthorized use of a person’s private information usually for financial or social control is common in the world today.
  • In Kenya for example, when we registered for Huduma Number, we gave too much personal information to people we did not know.
  • Those who acquired your personal data have access to your personal information and can steal your identity to open bank accounts, make purchases, sell your identity on the black market, passports, commit insurance fraud, rent cars or transfer your property.
  • Identity answers the question-Who am I? Who has God called you to be?
  • God has called you to be a christian, pastor, musician, engineer, teacher, lawyer, businessman/woman, leader, accountant, mother, encourager etc.
  • In Genesis 1:27, “So God created man in His own image: in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them.”
  • In Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
  • Destiny answers the question: What has God called you to do? Destiny is the very purpose for which God allowed you to come into this world.
  • Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for good and not for evil; to give you a future and an expected end.”
  • Isaiah 46:10, “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things have not been done saying, my people will be established and I will accomplish all my God pleasure!”
  1. EXAMPLE OF IDENTITY AND DESTINY IN THE LIFE OF GIDEON (Judges 7).

God Himself initiates your destiny and Identity.

  • In Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
  • God stepped into Gideon’s normal, everyday life and announces His intention for him.
  • God’s destiny for your life will always be consistent with the way He has uniquely wired you.
  • No one else has had your experiences, passion, abilities and spiritual gifts.
  • God took Gideon by surprises as He will do with you.
  • Take time to ask God “What have you called me to do? Who have you called me or created me to be?
  • In this life you need destiny helpers.
  • Gideon chose 30,000 men as destiny helpers.
  • God cut the number to 2,700, then to 300!!
  • DESTINY HELPERS AND DESTINY KILLERS.
  • The paralytic man was carried by four helpers-(Mark 2:1-12)
  • The paralytic man came from Capernaum area.
  • The four friends who carried him were destiny helpers.
  • The four helpers tried to go through the door, they could not, but they did not give up.
  • Those God has ordained to help you will not give up on you.
  • These four helpers knew if the door shuts, they could open a door at the top!!
  • But there were destiny killers present.
  • People preventing the paralytic man from reaching Jesus.
  • The friends tried to get their paralyzed friend through the door, but people around Jesus wouldn’t allow them.
  • People around Jesus were not bothered about the condition of the paralyzed man!!
  • Destiny killers block your dream, divert your destiny, cause delay, frustrate efforts, only see the negative side, they kill you. They tell you that your vision is too big. They drag you back, they are discouragers, time wasters, limiters and mockers.
  • Destiny killers are terrible people, tie your generations, they don’t care about generations.
  • Destiny killers tie ribbons into nodes to kill your future.
  • Some of the destiny killers are in your household, church and around you.
  • Destiny killers and destiny stoppers are plenty in Kenya and the world.
  • If your destiny has been killed, delayed, diverted or exchanged, God is going to reorder your destiny today in Jesus name.
  • Every tare the enemy has placed in your life is now uprooted in Jesus name.
  • Herod was a destiny killer, he killed children at infancy. The spirit of abortion and infanticide abolishes the destiny of others-(Matt. 2:1-18).
  • Herod tried to kill baby Jesus, beheading John the Baptist, killed James etc.
  • Sanballat and Tobias hindered Nehemiah-(Neh. 2:10).
  • They discouraged Nehemiah by claiming the vision was too big. They told lies, threatened and mocked.
  • Please take note that your destiny killers must change or God will trouble them.
  • Destiny killers tried to kill Apostle Paul. They took an oath to kill Paul-(Acts 23:12).
  • Some destiny killers have an oath to kill you, but God will send them on a journey of no return.
  1. WHAT DESTROYS IDENTITY AND DESTINY IN OUR LIVES?
  • The midianites do it through lies. They say you are not good enough.
  • They cause and use your past disappointment. They use statements like “You won’t amount to anything.”
  • Through problems that come in multiples like big mountains.
  • They use your family background and history to defeat you.
  • They make you forget your position in Christ, hence making you lose your identity. Remember you are forgiven, a child of God, saved, sanctified, filled, enriched.
  • Through underrating yourself that the other person is better than you.
  • You are made afraid of what is to come to you-you fear the future-(Psalms 23).
  1. RESULTS OF LOST IDENTITY AND MISPLACED DESTINY.
  • You become a pessimist.
  • You hide from public view.
  • Forgetfulness of who God is and what He has done.
  • Unmet goals and aspirations.
  • Losing the will to dream or take risks.
  • Being suspicious of everyone.
  • You become a survivor and stop living.
  • You lose your faith. You tear down achievements of others by gossiping them and belittling them and their achievements.
  • You live in self-pity and form pity-parties.
  • You speak stupidity and make stupid vows to impress others-not God.
  1. SIGNIFICANCE OF DESTINY HELPERS.
  • Destiny helpers connect you to the top not the bottom.
  • Destiny helpers facilitate your destiny. They add value; they are strategically positioned to help you arrive at your destiny.
  • They go out of their way to help you. They help you navigate through all obstacles. They help you succeed; they remove barriers and fight on your behalf.
  • They use their time and resources for you.
  • They use their networks to open up opportunities for you; they make your way smooth. They are ordained by God to assist you. They bear your burdens-(Gal. 3:6).
  • When your destiny helpers come, your story will change.
  • When your real destiny helper appears, every difficult thing becomes so easy and possible!!
  • When your destiny helper comes, you eat and dine with Kings like Esther.
  • Your destiny helper may not be for a life time.
  • Your destiny helper might be anybody no matter the person’s status.
  • Some destiny helpers are sent to come and go, others are sent to come and stay!!
  • No matter what happens, you will never lack help.
  • Every helper has a season of manifestation.
  • Destiny helpers are not limited to monetary terms alone but valuable advice as well.
  • EXAMPLES OF DESTINY HELPERS.
  • Jethro and Moses-(Gen. 18). Jethro was a destiny helper to Moses. He went to meet Moses, advices him on how to delegate. He gave Moses wise counsel and a wife too!!
  • Joseph the butler and the baker-(Gen. 40:6-7). In prison Joseph looked after the butler and the baker. Later Joseph was remembered to Pharaoh.
  • Naaman and the maidservant-(2 Kings 5:3). God used a maid to help Naaman. Don’t overlook people God sends your way.
  • Elijah and the widow of Zeraphath-(1 Kings 17:12-13).
  • Hannah and Eli-(1 Sam. 1:17). Eli had issues, but was the destiny helper God had used to unlock Hannah’s barrenness. All Hannah needed was a prophetic declaration from a priest.
  • Shunamite woman and Elisha-(2 Kings 4). Elisha prayed and God opened the womb of the Shunamite for a son.
  • On the other hand, there are fake destiny helpers who block your dream, divert your destiny at the expense of your ignorance and carelessness.
  • Fake destiny helpers cause delay, frustrate efforts, discourage you, time waste, limit and mock you.
  • Destiny helpers come in all colors, ages, position, and religions. They may come to you with their own problems; they add to your speed, lubricate your friction.
  • Destiny helpers may be mentors in life like Jethro to Moses.
  • Destiny helpers may be peers like Aaron and Moses.
  • Destiny helpers are divine connectors. They are the missing link between who you are and who you were designed to be-(2 Kings 5:1-3).
  • Destiny helpers are movers and influencers. They have influence, ability, connections to bring you to your next level. Joseph a prisoner became Prime Minister of Egypt with 24 hours because of the baker.
  • Destiny helpers are gifted, burden couriers, ladder holders.
  • Destiny helpers could also be your husband or wife.
  • To connect to your divine destiny helpers, be nice to people, avoid pride-(Prov. 16:5). Help people solve their problems, pray that God will send you the right people.

CONCLUSION:

  • Are you like Naaman, you are a great person, accomplished, rich, handsome, beautiful, educated-but you are a leper, a sinner-You need Jesus Christ today.
  • Do you sense that your identity has been stolen and your destiny is misplaced-Come to Jesus now.
  • Do you need destiny connectors, pray these prayer points:
  1. Oh Lord, send me destiny connectors in Jesus name.
  2. I shall not miss my destiny helpers in Jesus name.
  3. Father, open my eyes to my destiny helpers in Jesus name.
  4. Father, redirect the steps of my destiny helpers back to me in Jesus name.
  5. My character shall not chase away my destiny helpers and connectors in Jesus name.
  • Pray the Aaronic blessing-(Numbers 6:23-27).
