GENESIS 15:7-11, ECCLESIASTES 10:7
INTRODUCTION
God had ordained that you be a prince and to be a blessing to your generation, but the enemy wants you to be a slave. These vultures and birds of prey want to overrule what God has ordained for you. Do not let sleep and slumber cause you to forfeit your destiny. Let us notice:
I. THE VULTURES THAT ARE AFTER YOUR DESTINY
(Gen 15:7-11, Eccl 10:7)
- Abraham, although called by God, was confused about the future.
- God had made a promise concerning his destiny but demanded a sacrifice.
- Destiny can be procured and secured by the power of sacrifice (Rom 12:1-2).
- Abraham complied but strange birds came to fight against the sacrifice, the sacrifice was the channel of Abraham destiny.
- Abraham had to fight these birds of prey.
- Abraham drove them away.
- Satanic vultures are ever fighting over our destinies. If you allow them, there goes your destiny.
- See what King Solomon saw in (Ecclesiastes 10:7)
II. WHAT IS DESTINY
- The things which God fore-ordained for your future
- The program of God for your life
- What you were created to be and do
- A fixed order of things for your life
- The original intention of God recorded in heaven
- The very purpose for which you were born.
- God had ordained that you be a prince/princess and one to be a blessing to your generation but the enemy wants you to be a slave.
- The vultures came for the sacrifice. Their aim is to ensure that you don’t get to your destiny.
III. THE VULTURES
- A large bird of prey
- They don’t kill, but they eat what animals have already killed or those that have died or about to die.
- They feed on dead flesh.
- They can smell death from a great distance.
- Vultures are ugly, birds to the sight.
- They have sharp sight, they like war fronts.
- Vultures have spiritual counterpart’s.They devour the spiritual destinies of many.
- By the grace of God you must chase them away to secure your destiny and future.
IV. WHAT ARE THESE VULTURES IN REAL LIFE
- SELF
- This vulture of self has devoured many destinies.
- This vulture of self makes sure that you are a slave.
- King Nebuchadnezzar became an animal, left his throne and ate grass with animals for 7 ½yrs. (Daniel 4:28-33)
- King Uzziah turned leprous after much achievement (2Chron 26:16-23)
- God closed her womb permanently because Michal was selfish and a mocker (2Sam 6:16-23)
- PRIDE
- Pride made the anointed cherub to be wingless (Lucifer) Ezek 28:11-19
- Pride made King Herod to be eaten by worms after a great speech (Acts 12:20-25)
- Pride made a great rich man to be called ‘a fool’ by God (Luke 12:13-21)
- EXCESS COMFORT
- Some destinies have been destroyed by this vulture.
- Esau regretted because of this; a destiny was exchanged for an ordinary bowl of food. (Gen 25:32-34)
- A certain King saw a woman bathing and attracted a sword into his household (I Sam. 11)
- DISOBEDIENCE
- Our first parents were chased out from their happiness by this vulture.
- King Saul was dethroned by this vulture.
- It is tragic to forfeit your destiny.
- IMMORALITY
- The vultures of sexual immorality are flying so high now, Lesbianism, Homosexuality, slay queens, sponsors, Mlabesi, Munyonyezi.
- Reuben a prince lost his position. He defined his father’s couch.
- It made Samson die with his enemies
- Destiny destroyers, manipulations – Herod, Pharaoh were destiny destroyers.
V. THE STRATEGIES OF THE VULTURES
- Ignorance – when you don’t know and recognize why God bought you into history. Daniel and Joseph knew their purpose
- Manipulation – don’t be manipulated to become a hewer of wood and a drawer of water.
VI. HOW TO CHASE THE VULTURES
- Decide for God today
- Decide not to ever enter into the hands of your enemies.
- Stand for God always
- Seek holiness and make heaven your goal.
CONCLUSION
- Abraham would not have come to his destiny had he allowed the vultures to eat his sacrifice.
- The greater your destiny the more the vultures.
- Procure and secure your destiny. I pray you will
- Don’t let any vulture undermine the basis of your relational covenant with the Living God – your Sacrifice.
