WHEN THERE IS AN ERROR IN A LIFE

SERIES:  MY GOD IS MY DELIVERER 

TEXT:  ECCLESIASTES 10:5-7, II KINGS 4:1-7

In life when we correct the error, destiny will be corrected. In the two readings above we see errors in life.

When you are not where you should be in life it is an errors.

When you should be enjoying but you are just managing it is an error.

If you are still bowing to the devil as a child of God it is an error.

If you are born again but sin is still domineering your life it is an error.

If you are still borrowing instead of lending to the nations it is an error.

You must become tired of the valley so things must change.

When the enemy did to you he will have to regret it.

The enemies of your life must be brought to regret for interfering with your destiny.

The account in II Kings 4:1-7, the story of a widow of a servant of God, she had two sons.

When the husband was still alive he was in debt, it is an error.

This servant of God lived all his life in poverty. What was supposed to be abnormal was normal to him, a life of debt.

Borrowing when alive and in death, the problems continue into the second generation into a vicious cycle of debt and poverty.

When you live such life of debt, you need deliverance

The creditor came to take her children into slavery, but she ran to the man of God. That day the situation of the widow changed, the error was   corrected. Let us see what she did that changed and corrected the error. This woman followed 7principles to correct the error started by her late husband. Errors don’t have to be corrected by those who started them.

Let us learn:-

  1. SHE RAN TO THE RIGHT PERSON
  • Instead of staying at home murmuring and blaming God.
  • Jesus Christ said “come and to me..” (Matt. 11:28)
  • We all must have fathers not god fathers.
  • She ran to the right person, going to the person would have double the error.
  • When God gives you solution it may not make sense to you.
  • Let us not try to control God according to our knowledge.

 

  1. SHE DISCOVERED HERSELF
  • What she can do and her potential.
  • She discovered there was a great potential in her.
  • What you need to make you great is in you.
  • The Bible says “the gift of a man will make a way for him.”
  • All of us have what it takes to be great in life, but we must discover it.
  • What will make you great is inside of you already.
  • What you see inside you can take you to where you want to be in life, only discover it.
  • In Genesis 39:2 – Joseph discovered himself.
  • David discovered himself in the pastures playing handmade instruments. His gift took him to the palace.
  • You have something to give to the world that will make a way for you.

III. IDENTIFY YOUR NEEDS

  • This woman identified her need, when asked she said it all.
  • Don’t hide your need, God will not release what you don’t ask for.
  • In Mark 10:51, the blind man spoken about his need.
  • Although Jesus Christ knew the blind man’s need, yet he asked the blind man – what do you want me to do?
  1. BE GOOD TO PEOPLE
  • Elisha said go and borrow empty pots.
  • She brought all the pots, everyone in the village trusted this widow with their pots.
  • You cannot get to the top alone, you need somebody.
  • Don’t work on the downfall of anyone, as you push people up, you are going up.
  • In Acts 9:36 – Dorcas died and the people said Dorcas cannot die, they called Peter.
  • Peter mover by people testimony brought Dorcas back to life.
  • Be good to people and be good to God, pay you tithes and offerings, be generous when you can (Prov.11:24-25)
  1. EMPTY YOUR CONTAINER
  • Bottles are smaller than pots, she had a bottle but asked to borrow pots.
  • Her little oil in the bottle was the seed. Don’t eat your seed (Proverbs 11:24-25)

 

  1. SHUT YOUR DOOR
  • This means keep your mouth shut. The man of God had said, after you have collected pots shut your door. (Proverbs 18:21)
  • Watch what you say, if you don’t speak the enemy cannot hear you.
  • Open things but not your mouth until your miracle is mature.
  1. DON’T STOP
  • The oil stopped when the woman stopped
  • She should have borrowed more pots.
  • Our extend of faith stops the miracle, let us learn from our mistakes and failures.

CONCLUSION

  • Correct that error today, correct the error and destiny will be corrected.
  • Do you know your error? Correct it in Jesus Name.
