O, GOD REMEMBER ME

SERIES: DIVINE INTERVENTIONS 

TEXT: GENESIS 30:22

 

When God remembers someone, He steps into their situations turning sorrow to joy, barrenness into fruitfulness and captivity to freedom. When the Bible says “The Lord remembered” it is not suggesting that God is a forgetful God. It signifies that God is acting on His promises, bringing fulfilment and deliverance at the right time. When God remembers someone He get involved into one’s situation, sorrow is changed to joy, barrenness is changed to fruitfulness and captivity to freedom. Divine remembrance brings breakthrough.

Let us learn:-

GOD REMEMBERS IN THE MIDST OF WAITING.

  1. God sees our waiting season.
  2. God saw Rachel, God was aware of Rachel’s waiting season-(Gen. 30:22) 
  • Waiting prepares us for greater things and our waiting seasons refine us for what lies ahead-(James 1:3-4).
  1. God’s timing is perfect.
  • Though we may feel delayed, God’s timing for remembrance is flawless-(Eccl. 3:11).
  1. Hope sustains us in waiting. 
  • Hope in God brings strength during waiting-(Psalms 27:14).
  • God remembered Hannah and gave her Samuel after a long period of waiting-(1st Samuel 1:19-20).

GOD REMEMBERS FOR DIVINE INTERVENTION.

  1. God hears the cry of His people.
  • When God remembers, He moves on behalf of His people-(Exodus 2:24-25).
  1. Deliverance comes through divine remembrance.
  • God remembered Israel in Egypt and delivered them from slavery.
  1. God’s intervention changes circumstances.
  • When God intervenes, situations are transformed-(Psalms 136:23-24).
  1. God’s remembrance breaks chains.
  • Divine remembrance frees us from limitations-(Acts 12:7-11).
  • God remembered Noah, He stopped the flood delivering Him and his family-(Gen 8:11).

GOD REMEMBERS FOR FRUITFULNESS.

  1. GOD restores fruitfulness.
  • Divine remembrance brings fruitfulness to barren areas of life- (Gen. 30:22-23)
  1. Faith prepares us for fruitfulness.
  • When God remembers, barrenness of all types turns to blessing-(Heb. 11:11)
  1. New life spring from God’s remembrance.
  • Like in the case Sarah God’s remembrance brought new beginnings-(Gen. 21:1-2).
  1. Blessings flow through divine remembrance.
  • God’s remembrance brings an overflow of blessings-(Psalms 115:12-14).
  • Elizabeth’s fruitfulness after years of barrenness.
  • God remembered Elizabeth and gave her John the Baptist-(Luke 1:13, 24-25).

GOD REMEMBERS FOR COVENANT PROMISES.

  1. God is faithful to His covenants.
  • He remembered His covenant promises-(Psalms 105:8-10).
  1. Covenant promises are eternal.
  • God’s promises are unchanging and eternal-(Heb. 6:13-19).
  1. God’s remembrance brings the fulfilment of covenant blessings-(Deut. 7:9).
  2. Our trust in His covenant faithfulness.
  • Faith in God’s promises anchors us-(2nd Cor.1:20).
  • God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob leading to Israel’s  deliverance from Egypt-(Exodus 2:24)

GOD REMEMBERS FOR DIVINE FAVOUR.

  1. Favor comes through God’s remembrance.
  • Divine remembrance brings favor in unexpected places-(Gen. 39:21).
  1. Divine favor opens doors.
  • Favor from God creates opportunities for breakthrough-(Prov. 3:4).
  1. Favor changes destinies.
  • God’s favor transformed the life of Ruth in Bethlehem-(Ruth 2:10).
  1. Grace and mercy flow from God’s favor.
  • God’s remembrance is filled with grace and mercy-(Ephesians 2:4-5).
  • God remembered Mordecai, causing the king to favor him, which led to his promotion-(Esther 6:1-11).

CONCLUSION 

When God remembers His people He brings transformation, favor, fulfillment. His remembrance is a sign of His faithfulness and His active involvement in our lives.

As we wait on Him and trust in His promises, we can be assured that He will remember us, bringing joy, breakthrough and restoration.

Application: Prayers 

  • Lord, thank you for your faithfulness in remembering me.
  • Father, remember me and bring transformation in every area of my life.
  • Restore every lost blessings in my life as you remember me, Lord.
  • Let your remembrance bring fruitfulness in all barren areas.
  • Lord let your remembrance bring joy, fulfilment and new beginnings in my life.
  • Grant me favor as you remember me today.
  • Let your covenant promises be fulfilled in my life.
  • Lord, remember me and deliver me from every limitations in my life.
  • May your intervention change every challenging circumstances in my life.
  • Lord, let your grace and mercy flow abundantly as you remember me.
